Kleer Kut Use a desktop shortcut to a 'Pictures' folder and copy your pictures to there? I personally don't use any desktop icons and try to encourage people to make use of folders (directories) for storing things in some manner that makes sense to them, along with doing regular backups. The organization helps a lot if you ever have to restore from a backup.

Pasting photos from camera shifts desktop icon composition!

Whenever i try to copy photos from camera or mobile phone, my desktop icon composition is DESTROYED. No mater where i paste the photos, they always appear on top left screen corner SHIFTING my whole desktop icons downwards.. It's unbelievably frustrating!!!

In Windows 7, i do remember there was some kind of option to order the icons to ''STAY-IN-YOUR-TUCKING-PLACE'', but not auto arrange! Now i only see ''align to grid'' and ''auto arrange...

Auto arranging icons locks the whole desktop, which i do not want. I would prefer a non auto arranged composition, but that the inserted photos would appear where i put them, and not where they want.

Any options???
