shilka That problem and many others are caused by aero so as said switch to classic it runs much better and most of the problems goes away

or just disable aero. i did like the "classic" look and it is better for benchmarking.

Windows 7: can't disable performance warnings?

I'm running windows 7, and whenever i play higher end games, i get momentarily kicked out for the dreaded "do you want to change color scheme to improve performance" popup. i have turned off "windows troubleshooting" notifications in the action panel (which is what every tutorial on the subject ive found says to do) but i'm STILL getting the popup.

whats the next step to shutting it off?
