Nick the Slick | Geek Squad agents aren't all bad, the problem is we hire any old kid who "fixed" their grandma's computer by uninstalling that adware app she installed by accident. Some of the agents are actually really knowledgeable, they're just outnumbered by the "geeks". You could go to 10 different Best Buys and I can almost guarantee you'll get 10 different levels of competence from the agents there. It's pretty scary if they're going to be allowing these guys to work on these computers at the stores since 90% of our actual repairs are sent to Geek Squad City here in Kentucky. I get sick of fixing stuff that they've attempted to fix and broken in the process. Hell some of them break stuff just trying to get the storage out for data backup.... Then there's the ones that send stuff in like "it's blue screening, needs a new graphics card". First of all, it's a laptop that can't have a graphics card and doesn't have an mxm module or even a dedicated graphics chip for that matter. Second of all, if you had bothered to check the logs you would have saw that the blue screen was caused by this buggy driver that you could have updated and fixed.... |

Their way of fixing: It's broken, it can't be repaired, you have to pay for a refurbished device!
Then they send it to be refurbed in China or scrapped and sold as parts on streets. Want a repair, you're better sending it to a reputable non official repair shop that will actually fix it and knows what design horrors Apple did on their electronics, they will fix the board instead of replacing it whole when damage allows. |

Melan | That's how many technicians takes to replace a single screen. |

Best Buy’s Geek Squad now has nearly 7,600 newly Apple-certified technicians ready to service Apple products at one of nearly 1,000 retail locations. All repairs through Best Buy are backed by Apple and are completed using genuine Apple parts, the company said.

So now apple customers have another authorized place that won't repair their device in order to sell the newest model Great news |

I’m good on getting any ASP to fix an Apple product. I’d just send it to Louis Rossman. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

neonlazer | A good portion of Geek Squad associates couldn't fix a plain desktop if they tried, have fun fixing a laptop of any type. Bet a video by Louis is coming soon about this. Lol |
