deafboy Display port cable is a display port cable for the most part. That'd be just fine...

The length thing is just a shielding thing for the most part (for reasonable lengths anyways).

I have tin foil on the connectors for that very reason, lol. Silly but works.

bigjdubb Display port 1.2 is what you need for 1440p 144hz. I've never used that specific cable but as long as it isn't a total pos it should get the job done for you. I'm not even sure if there is a physical difference in the cables (between the different displayport specs), I think all of it comes down to the hardware you are connecting it to (monitor and gpu need to be 1.2 or newer).

PS.: I've heard of people having issues with display port cables at longer lengths. You may want to look into 15 foot display port cables and make sure there won't be any issues because I'm not exactly sure what people mean when they say "long display port cable". To me, 15 feet is a pretty long display cable.
