What are you talking about? Most X470 and all of B450 boards from ALL manufacturers have a 16MB bios. At least MSI is trying to amend that issue with new upgraded boards and new BIOSes that support ZEN2. RAID support is already fixed on the new BIOS versions and they just cut down the fancy UI and old CPU support. So what?

Fluxmaven Yea, not going to boycott MSI... Just because Zen 2 is still on AM4 doesn't mean that I expected the board manufactures to do us any big favors. It was obvious back in January that if you wanted to fully take advantage of Zen 2 that you would need to get a new board. Things like PCI 4.0 aren't just going to be downloaded in a BIOS update. Yes, it sucks that you are left with a watered down BIOS, but they did offer a BIOS update and the new CPUs will work with it. Contact their customer support and complain to them. They may release another BIOS that addresses some of your complaints.

magnafides Honestly MSI and Gigabyte have been the best w.r.t. this launch. At least they are actively working to fix the issues and are responsive to the community, unlike Asus or Asrock.

The Pook If everyone on OCN decided to not buy anything from any company who ever did anything shady then no one would have a rig.

ms178 I am also worried that MSI (and the other vendors that cheaped out on their BIOS chips) will not support the next Zen 3 chip which was supposed to work on older AM4 boards. At least that was a promise AMD communicated publicly and I just bought a board three weeks ago in good faith that it would support Zen 3, too. If I had known that a new revision would be around the corner which will get this support, I would have waited longer or would have bought a cheaper board which I would need to replace anyway in the future.

Irev I don't see a problem..... at least they are offering support and you don't have to upgrade the board to support ryzen 3000 series..... after all it's just a bios.. you enter the bios change a few settings and never return for another year. The only downside I see is that it breaks RAID support.

I think you're over reacting a little here because MSI isn't the only manufacturer with a 16mb bios chip in x370/x470 board.

AlphaC They didn't promise Zen 3rd gen support.

Also they have provided support via a cut down BIOS to put into the small BIOS chip. Sure it might be less flashy but if it gets the job done I don't see a point in complaining about it.

You won't be able to open a lawsuit unless you can prove damages by the way.

Martin778 I think a lot of B450 boards have 16MB, at least Aorus B450 does.
