From what I've heard/seen. the extra pins are to spread the current load more than 1151 can (8 vs 10 HT cores is a 20% increase - don't want burnt pins!) and the new memory controller. z490 is likely to be 5000 as a ram OC
Sounds like fun I'm looking forward to it
Just got my QDC's delivered

Totally different chipset that has yet to be released. They are talking socket 1200 which is half that of HEDT so something has to give. This is more of a one up of the 9900K and add two cores.
Yes but is 1200 half of 1151 socket I don't think so and what I was referring to forget about hedt once 10 cores are on a better gaming platform chip
I have no issues dumping hedt or at least seeing how a real chip is supposed to game

I have in my pc a i9-7900x, i wont buy a i9-10900x, i look for the 10980xe 18 cores or 10990xe 22 cores.
Those 2 where announce long time ago but they not coming yet, anyway my 10 cores run verry well and iam not in hurry.

Yeah with the new 10900k around the corner 10900x wouldn't be all that good of a purchase
10900k will likely blow the 10900x out of the water since k version cache is so much superior (pci-e lanes aside) shear performance 10900k winner probably the same price too.

Even i go in usa to buy a cpu, i need change my CAD to USD and i just add 445$ for a 1000$ cpu = 1445$ lol.
I remeber have built a pc in 2012 i think and price was the same then urs and i was happy hehehe. Now its worst then ever, not a good time for Canadian to built a pc. I not bought a 2080 ti coz that, can cost here 1900$, its crazy. Today at store i spend 300$ for food is also crazy.
Guys at the market tell me the price of the food will get a lot higher next week lol !
