CravinR1 Any input on EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER BLACK GAMING, 08G-P4-3071-KR, 8GB GDDR6 I just ordered one from newegg for $505 after $20 MIR
https://www.newegg.com/evga-geforce-...82E16814487456

I canceled the black gaming and am considering the EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER XC GAMING, 08G-P4-3172-KR, 8GB GDDR6, Dual HDB Fans, RGB LED, Metal Backplate
https://www.newegg.com/evga-geforce-...82E16814487454

$15 difference and the Super XC has higher boost and backplate and RGB.

Worth or not? How are the coolers ?

It's a $50 (aka 10%) differential to the next Gigabyte up (the Gaming)!
i bought the gaming oc 3x simply for testing this out. it is very interesting although i still cant get the old windforce sold.

bear in mind that the 3x versions has the type c output cut, and this saves the vendors around $10usd, not to mention the 3x version's pcb has got some changes like the capacitiors of input and output filtering. the windforce oc 3x should be at least the same price as before or even slightly cheaper.

the gaming oc 3x has already shipping out but as far as i know the windforce oc 3x is not yet started to ship.

Cobra652 Not magic. Same cards, same coolers, different bios, different price + a little silicon lottery.
I bought an Asus Strix 2070 Super 8G today. Saved the factory bios first. After that i tried to flash Strix 2070 super O8G bios (from Techpowerup verified). Its installed succesfully with nvflash.
Simple Strix 8G has 269w TDP limit, with factory clocks. Strix O8G has 319W tdp limit with much higher clocks. So after bios flashed, i got O8G clocks with O8G TDP limit. I checked the O8G factory clocks for a hour (games, benchmarks) and its stable,a tried OC.

I tried more OC since the pics. Now, the card was start at 2155mhz in games/benches, but after 2-3 minutes the clocks dropped to 2135 because of temps. Its stable. At 2190Mhz its freezing after 1 minutes with the air cooler. I try to add water in the next 1-2 month.

So i can, now i have a Strix 2070 Super O8G for the price of strix 8g (+ modern warfare bundle).
The card runs fine with the factory O8G settings, and more. With a fast OC (i dont try more), i got 2125mhz / 7700mhz stable on air.
What is this magic? Did you flash a new card BIOS? I've never tried this, but those results are intense

and that gives us a very clear hint about how good could the windforce oc 3x be!
the windforce oc 3x (GV-N207SWF3OC-8GD) could be the cooling king among the entry level of 2070 supers.
this baby has 1 heatpipe cut (affecting the middle part of the 3 finstacks), but got the same gaming oc 3x's heatsink thickness and fan sizes.
https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Ca...7SWF3OC-8GD#kf

windforce oc (old) is <2 slots; 6 heatpipes; ~78mm fan.
windforce oc 3x (new) is >2 slots; 5 heatpipes; ~83mm fan.

I know it has a much lower power limit than O8G. Can i succesfully update the bios to Strix O8G? Or may i buy the O8G? Thanks!

(Or maybe may i go for Palit 2070 Super Gamerock premium for same price as Strig 8G)?

Nematic From the start i want to say that I'm green at this kind of stuff but i made some research.
I want to upgrade to 2070 super and I hesitate between Gigabyte Aorus and Palit JS.
The Palit is a bit cheaper and as far as I know it's pretty cool therefore good for some OC.
The gigabyte on the other hand is more expensive (around 40$ after conversion) but offers more output slots, a bit more boost clock from the get-go (1905 vs 1815 although maybe it shouldn't count as i plan to OC slightly anyway (?)) aswell as usb-c (I do not plan on using it but it's better to have it than not).
I have gigabyte 760 windforce oc 4gb now, i've never had any experience with Palits though.
I think i will go with Palit JS.
What would you propose?

JackCY All the owners of MSI Armor, Gaming, maybe other variants with this same PCB might find this interesting:
