sideeffect For anyone interested I tested 2x16GB Dual Rank Micron E-Die (3000 15-16-16) in this motherboard and got good results.

SOC Voltage 1.056v. VDIMM 1.405v.

sideeffect @Minotaurtoo NVM the 2700x still rocks!

Even with PBO disabled it still allows the PBO scalar to work. I now use PBO scalar 3x which allows the CPU to boost slightly higher in 4 core and 8 core workloads my clocks are about 25-50Mhz higher in games. The PBO disabled limits still keeps the CPU cooler and restrained when all cores are being used.

Minotaurtoo well... drat... my idea of testing out the 3900x got delayed or even cancelled... finances related... oh well... guess this lowly little 2700x will have to do... lol

sideeffect I went back to 5007 BIOS because it has a better boost algorithm. Both BIOSes are stable at the same RAM settings but 5007 is a lot faster for gaming where most games will hold at 4.3GHZ on 5007 and only 4225Mhz on 5204 BIOS. On 5007 all cores hit 4.4Ghz at some point on 5204 only 2 cores hit 4.375Ghz and the others never go above 4.3ghz.

Not really for me. It is actually worse for boosting than the previous BIOS but not enough for me to flash back. I think it's not worth updating to these newer BIOSes unless you have Zen 2 until they iron out these issues.


@galadar Those timing at 3600 look great hope it works out stable.

updating to 5007 never helped me get stable at 3200 with a 2700x.
Biggest factor was the memory controller on the 3700x.

Update:

I have all the timings in my last screen shot, stressed it overnight with lower tRP and tRC.

Minotaurtoo this new bios... did it solve any of the issues of the prior one... I updated anyway, but can't really tell any difference

galadar Yep youre absolutely right! I did some more research and tweaked these sub timings.
I didnt take a screenshot of it, but originally, my Mem read speeds were around 51.1GB/s with around 73ns latency.

I tried the safe sub-timings. and got great improvement.
Then I tried the fast sub-timings and got even better improvement.
Went to 52.9GBs and 67.8ns with the safe, and 53.4GBs and 67.6ns with the fast.

Currently stressing my timings along with the fast sub-timings. Wondering where to go next, maybe bring tRP to 14 (along with tRAS and tRC), or try for 3666mhz with the current. maybe both, who knows.

sideeffect You could speed things up if you used TM5 with 1asmus profile. It really hammers the memory and detects errors in under 10 minutes that other tests take hours to detect.

Some of the most important timings for Ryzen performance are loose with your settings. Work on TFAW, Twr, TRFC.

galadar Ok 3733 was kind of hard! I kept failing a few tests after 10 minutes. Perhaps I didnt know what I was doing.
I decided to see how good I could do 3600mhz. I see the new BIOS and wonder if that may help out.

Here's my latest results with 3600mhz at 1.475v. You were right about vSOC voltage, so I left it at 1.1v.
I learned alot about Ryzen RAM overclocking, I want to see if I can lower my tRCD or tRP soon. Perhaps use this knowledge and chase 3733.

CPU and GPU overclocking do not compare to the hours that RAM overclocking involves.
