they'll have a much better selection*. but i understand the time constraint.

*edit: assuming they credit you the ~$40/$50 which am sure they will.
MicroCenter is kinda far from my location. Typically I only go there on "shopping days" when I have nothing else to do. I am planning to go back at some point in the near future and will see if they will do something for me in terms of refund/credits.

Thanks guys for all your help.

Thanks I certainly tried / will continue to try to reach a real human there, just can't seem to find one...anyhow, no more Antec anything for business or home.

That is the one I purchased. As my answer above states, money was a concern and some compromises had to be made. The replacement will most likely be this model.

What is you opinion on this one?

...sorry gents to piggyback on this thread, but about half a year ago, I had exactly the same problem with one of several Antec HPC Platinum 1300w we bought. One fine day, the system wouldn't boot, just fans spinning up very briefly then stop...I changed PSU and everything worked. While the original unit is still under warranty, the normal route for RMA (returning it via the retailer) won't work because the retailer is out of business <> NCIX, here in Canada.

In any case, I emailed Antec Support and also called w/ voice mail messages many months ago - nobody at Antec ever responded. I then opened up a ticket, and...still nothing, per below (I covered personal info etc). Apart from a Better Business Bureau complaint, can you gents think of any other option ? That Antec HPC Platinum 1300w wasn't cheap...

shilka If you need one right now and Bestbuy is the only option you could do worse than the CX650M

As for the CXM its slightly better than average but not great, on the other hand its far better than your old PSU

Is Best Buy your only option because their selection is not very good and they dont sell Seasonic

Edit: Newegg has an NeoECO 550 Gold for $65 with rebate

Yes, unfortunately Bestbuy is the only option at the moment. Ordering an online item is not an option because the PC has to be up and running immediately. And any 550 watt model you may have seen is not available at my local Bestbuy so it's 650 or nothing.

UltraMega When a PC does this... Boots for a second and then shuts off... It's almost always the psu.

Computer tries to turn on, realizes the power source is bad, and shuts off.

The NZXT Hale 82 V2 uses the same platform https://www.overclock.net/forum/31-p...ale-82-v2.html

Even if the PSU is not the problem its still a rubbish PSU that should be replaced

Edit: this is what you have right? this is the one based on the High Power Element Smart from what i understand
