What is the purpose of the SD card? Is it just to save game progress or can you actually save games to it?
Yeah. you can store games on the SD card.

skupples I assumed the storage was for downloading & storing games locally.

I won't know until I pick up my Lite on the 20th, but I pre-ordered a rather large one with the assumption its for storing downloaded titles.

looks like Ring Fit is for full switch only...

I am a PC gamer and have not touched a console other than the wii since the original playstation.

So far my son has only asked for Pokken tournament GX or whatever it is called. He has mariokart 8 on the way. Any game suggestions for a 7 year old that mostly wants to play minecraft? Not getting minecraft for this, already has it on PC and ipad. Not buying it a 3rd time.

I would like something he can play without getting bogged down in menus and complex stuff.

Chargeit Posted this elsewhere on the site but guess I should of posted here.

Picked up the revised version of the switch. Got a few games to go with it. Have played Botw with Cemu but nice to play it legit. Looks pretty good on my 4k tv, better then expected, mostly. Played some Super Mario maker last night and man, some of it's different. Hadn't thought about it but the last Super Mario game I played was the Snes one. Has a lot of new features in it. Really digging the switch!

*Switching out the cartridges for digital. Forgot how much of a pia it was to change around physical media. :0

.theMetal I actually ended up trading in my switch for the V2 model at game stop. They are giving 225 for used switches and I had a bunch of game stop cards so the total cost for me was about a dollar fifty out of pocket. I figured mine was beat up after a few years of use and I was looking into some new joy cons and this actually cost about the same, plus I get a new warranty and a cooler quieter running switch with more battery life.

I transferred my profile to my wife's temporarily then wiped mine. When I got the new one home I transferred back, and I kept all my save files. Just had to re-download the games I'm playing now. Strangely enough it was the fastest I've ever been in and out of a game stop.

I don't expect anything but if they do revise the switch, they should tackle some of those points.
They tend to go with the minor updates, high price tactic. So i expect to see a bigger screen. people would be angry at a "Pro" that isnt bigger. Myabe improved visuals but not by a big margin, maybe a slight resolution improvement but nothing that will take it too far away from the original Switch.

Actually just picked up a second switch for my wife and we have been playing Dragon Quest Builders 2 religiously for the last week or so.
I may also just squeeze the trigger on a used current gen full switch kit, but then I'd be mad at myself for not waiting on the refresh with better battery life.

I would love the following (in order of priority):
- OLED Screen / smaller bezels
- 4K Native output from Dock
- Better battery (like the revised OG Switch that was just released)
- 1080p Mobile display
- Larger internal storage (256gb)

I would even forgo all the other features... just for the OLED. It will make a huge impact.
4K would the next best thing but it would be necessary from the dock.
Mobile can still be 720p but 1080p would be a nice bonus...
Think you're expecting WAY too much from Nintendo.
