You have Cloud, Aeris, Tifa, Barret, and Red XIII when you leave Midgar.

You get the rest later (after taking the ship across the ocean, 2nd continent) and by Rocket Town I believe you have them all. Well, assuming you do the quests to get the two 'optional' characters.

And who knows if it will be the same in the remake or not, probably.

phenom01 This broke my heart when I heard it was gonna be like final fantasy fifteen's combat. Final fantasy 7 is my favorite game of all time. Can't wait to see what this classic mode has to offer.

Same here. FF X was a blast for me. I had a hard time finishing FF XII. Gave up completely on FF X-2 and FF XIII. I'm not touching FF XV with a ten feet pole.

I expect the collectors ed/console paint job to be pimped out. This also being SE, i expect an RTX partnership with PCMR version. I'm trying not to spoil myself as every small glimpse i take is breathtaking. The is the definitive game of my generation. I knew a classmate who couldnt even read japanese order the game back in the day just to attempt to play it early. We were Weebs before the term was coined!

*You kinda got your wish?

I really do wonder how they are going to tune the game to beat encounters like ruby without w-item hero duping, knights of the round spam. There are so many items needed such as mystile, ribbon, mastered materias and ultimate weapons. I also liked the 7777 strats and some of the other ones such as auto revive and autocast knights of the round. Its really amazing though how awesome ff7 and some of the games in the series really were. There were so many easter eggs and 1,000's of man hours put into it. Even in 2019 I feel like people are still finding new combinations of materia and items to beat the games toughest content.
Never mind getting a Gold Chocobo and racing them up in rank without having W-Item to duplicate Sylkis Greens (or whichever one was most expensive from the Chocobo sages house on the Northern continent), without being able to duplicate them. You'd have to either steal or farm drops, or you'd have to buy them all and I added up the amount of Gil it takes at one point (best Greens are like 20k each..) and it was many millions....

Dunno if you played any earlier FFs but a lot/all of them had odd glitches. Like FF6 snes (Terra, Locke, Edgar etc are in it) and the Relm sketch glitch. You try to sketch an invisible enemy and get a random complement (well, psuedo random) of the best weapons, armor and accessories in the game. Things you are only ever supposed to get 1 of. (Like 255 Ultima Weapon swords and in that game you can dual wield them, and like 6-7 party members can do this). 255 Paladin shields- they make you block basically every magic in the game, and absorb a lot of stuff too, + full status immunity, + teaches the spell Ultima.

FF4 has an item duplication glitch as well as a particularly odd glitch where you can equip the trash can from the item menu as a helmet. It is the best armor in the game. Basically its in the item menu in the main out of battle menu (like when you press Triangle and go to item in FF7), its at the bottom of the list, and you can discard unwanted items in it. Well a glitch in the menuing system in battle lets you equip it and it gives 255 def and mdef. lol

Also did you know you can beat Ruby weapon really easy by doing W-Summon Hades, then KOTR, then mime it forever? If you do this he won't counter KOTR with Ultima. He is weak to the status effect Paralyze. Though it doesn't immobilize him for very long if ATB time is actually moving (its paused while KOTR is casting), he wont pwn your one character with Ultima counter and then Shadow Flare or something before you can act. He'll still be paralyzed briefly from Hades after you use KOTR and will not counter it. You start doing this after he buries his hands and just repeat it until you win, he goes down faster than Emerald too. Players must have figured this out sometime in the last 20 years because the BradyGames strategy guide doesn't include it...
