geronimo my father fixed the PSU. the fault was in power module.
He changed out a few electrolytic capacitors that didn't fix the problem. after that there was one fishy resistor that he changed out and the PSU is fixed.
its NTC resistor 2,5ohm, 6.5v.

I hope this helps someone down the line. If you need details let me know. I'll be glad to help.

cheers.

^ This. Over the years electrolytic capacitors' ESR increases as they age. As ESR is at its highest when cold, sometimes they need to be warmed up to work properly:

A recap would solve the problem.

geronimo don't worry, he knows. problem is he asked me for electrical schematic of this PSU and I have no idea if or where I can try to search for this. google search doesn't give me anything good.

shilka As long as your dad knows what is doing and is being careful and you wont be using the PSU for a new system

geronimo I wouldn't call it a waste of time for repair if the repair is more or less free and a joy for my dad.
I will not use it in my new machine but for a spare or in my old sandy that's currently under corsair vx450w (no gaming, just windows stuff and browsing).
thx for info.
