skupples idk about any of that, but i did follow the DX12 roll out pretty closely. big name DX12 titles still only had partial implementation well into 2017, and is likely still the case now. 2015 was a first glimpse of some features.

I mean... DX12 came out in 2015, and was probably being worked on internally long before that. You'd think MS would want their big fancy ambitious new game they're working on to be using the fancy new API they're working on too, right? So like, did they start development on this in 2012 when dx11 was still new or something? Somehow I doubt that, considering at the time, "Flight" was still supposed to be getting years of new dlc content (before it was canned for flopping so hard ofc).

skupples true,

but lets hope its less bland than mass effect's most recent universe. It felt like an MMO that stopped development half way & went single player instead.

WhiteCrane I had to stop watching when he started talking about machine learning making the trees. Making an algorithm to finish an environment isn't new. Yu Suzuki had an algorithm to make rooms in Shenmue. Google Maps does something similar when you aerial view over Disney World. This isn't groundbreaking. So they made an algorithm to look at 2 petabytes ( zomg so big ) of photographs and turn it into polygonal trees. This is not groundbreaking unless you thought the alternative was making every tree one at a time. Obviously there are subroutines in play when creating something the size of Mass Effect's universe.

Right there with you man! Life long flight simmer. I remember playing the first MS Flight Sim and I was hooked. This is about the most exciting thing ever! The only thing I could get more excited for is MicroProse/Spectrum Holobyte getting back together for Falcon 5.0!!!

PC first then XBox 1 later. Xbox version will differ from PC version. DX 12 maybe implemented later as well. It will be primarily streaming scenery and word is it will perform very decent with a 5MBps connection (min) This sim will upend the 3rd party development no doubt given the level of detail out of the box. 3rd party developers beware. If I were them I'd put most of my effort into aircraft primarily. VRS TacPack is also giving serious consideration to offering combat on the platform.

Playapplepie If the screenshots and videos are how the game will truly look then this is going to be an amazingly beautiful title. I am really excited. Considering buying some cockpit simulator instruments from the company I work for.
