skupples

I'll probably end up skimping on the CPU. It's mostly the lanes I'm after. They'll all 4K120 similarly.

Dantrax As soon as this LG 48" 4K OLED TV is released I'm getting one to use as a monitor. I have the LG 4K 55" C9 OLED and it's a great TV. I only have a 1080ti in my PC but I'm going to roll my PC into the living room and hook it up to the C9 to see what it looks like as a monitor. Then I'll get a new video car with HDMI 2.1 support and I'll be all set. Hopefully it will be an NVidia 3080ti because my 1080ti is the best video card I've ever owned but if AMD has HDMI 2.1 support that'll work too.

CallsignVega I don't think the 48" panel production line is up and running yet. If I recall a comment from last year, the 48" is a mid to late 2020 release.

skupples to follow that logic.... hopefully we won't see it release with obscene price gouging due to the increased gamer grade marketing.

EniGma1987 LG is probably launching the series without the 48", and will launch that model 2-3 months later. So the website wont list 48 so as not to confuse people with a model that doesnt exist, and to get people to buy a larger and more expensive model. Once the 48 launches I bet LG will then add it to the site afterward.

skupples it was.

strange though, the site only shows 75 and 55 for X series.

That drove me absolutely crazy when using it as a desktop monitor. I had to disable it. Blank screen screensaver and auto hide taskbar is fine.

Edit: I have a Samsung 40" 4k TV and a Samsung 32" 4k ips high end monitor btw.
The most common issue is subsampling the chroma which results in a subtle blurring of fine detail. Especially bad with text. This is why you need to put the HDMI ports in PC mode, and sometimes PC mode doesn't look as good. On the C9 and earlier banding is worse in PC mode with 8 bit RGB input and HDR tone mapping is much worse.

I hope the CX has improved PC mode, with all their talk of lowlatency HDR gaming improvements, but they could very well not have. 😞
