Snerp Ok! Got it all ghetto setup and the reserator is in the loop!

I did make a few OC changes this afternoon. Load temps with the stock EK loop were 67C and idle peak was 41C

With the Reserator, Idle is bouncing around between 29-39C, but it's mostly in the 30-34C range. Load is 62C. Not too shabby a difference! Worth it? Probably not, but 5C is pretty significant. It could just be that there is more water. It's about 3/4 a gallon of liquid.

One thing I should state is the liquid isn't the exact same. The stock kit had properly mixed ek cryofuel. I've got more concentrate in the mail, so if it really does make a difference we'll get to see.

And, yes, that is a paper towel at the base of the res...I've got a weird leak somewhere. It looks like it's coming from the base stand. I'm probably just going to caulk it up and see if that'll do.

My next moves will be actually finalizing where I want to place everything and running aluminum tubing. Should be fun!

*after extended load time, I hit 63C...or maybe the heater kicked on...who knows.

Looking forward.

I would also be interested to see what the reserator adds when you have the EK rad mounted inside the case. That should be where you see the biggest difference.

Snerp I just spent the past day nailing down this beefy OC: https://valid.x86.fr/p5y4qg I'm pretty proud of myself!

The load temp with the stock water system is 64C. Idle bounces around a bit between 32C and 40C. All temps are with fans at 100% and taken using the Gigabyte AORUS software.

I've got the plugs in. It's time to add in the Reserator! By this time tomorrow, I should have something to report.

Snerp I am too! I also ordered some aluminum tubing and will be attempting to use that in the final setup.

I'm kinda tempted to get all the aluminum parts anodized black. We'll see about that further down the road though.

ciarlatano Looking forward to seeing what the Reserator adds.

Snerp Got the stock kit installed. I'm actually pretty impressed with it. My temps are better than my Noctua NH-U12S, but I will say that my seating of the air cooler was sub optimal. According to my motherboard, I'm getting [email protected] with blender bench running. Was getting 84c with the Noctua.

Tomorrow I get my plugs in and can start playing with the reserator and the ddc.

Snerp Got the kit. I've worked on it some. Will probably have to wait till Wednesday to install it though. I am planning on installing the kit as it comes to get those readings as well. Gotta get some plugs ordered before I use the ddc310.

Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still working on it.

Snerp I went ahead and ordered up the EK Fluid Gaming A240. Nada back from alphacool, so we'll just start with a cpu loop and get some numbers.

I'm still planning on buying the alphacool block and having an aluminum coldplate machined for it, but starting with the cpu will get this show on the road. Should see the kit on the 19th. Then the fun begins!

EK had an interesting post. I think it was on Twitter. Even though it was extremely defensive of their position in choosing to make an aluminum loop, it was still quite informative and interesting. May be worth checking out if anyone has questions about aluminum vs copper.

I've been filming video of the disassembly and inspection of the reserator. Plan to keep going with the video. I should see the pump in the next few days. Just started my work week, but I'll post an update on my days off.
It's an interesting project.

Of course EK is defensive. Are you expecting them to answer honestly? Do you really expect them to say "we love the increased profit margins aluminum allows!"?
