-iceblade^ thanks for the replies . i thin i'll leave everything as it is atm... other things can be bought with the money

by the way, i'd SLI them if i could (Xfire compatible mobo only), but frankly i'd rather go for Xfire with the 4K series...

also, i am in the UK...

Arakasi x2 8800GT's on my system, and i have them bios volt modded running core at 740.

These cards scream with a quad @ 3.6 and mem @ 1000mhz on benchmarks.
I couldnt ask for anything more unless i was trying to get better 3dmark or vantage scores. I run a 24inch monitor at 1900x1200 on everything but crysis and get 20-30fps in crysis with directx10 @ 1400x700 resolution on ultra MAX settings.

So that certainly would justify the 8800gt still 1 beast of a card with a name that will live on through the years.

I wont replace them until after christmas.
They are x2

tensionz Mine works fine on that resolution.

It's too bad I don't have a SLI motherboard, the card costs $110 now and last winter it was starting out at $270.

Rockin Z28 an 8800gt is still a beast of a card (will play 99% of games at max..crysis/warhead at high/very high moderate resolutions) but if i were you i would hunt around and see if i could find a used one for sub $100

CorryBasler Im pushing most of my latest games at 1920x1080i with no problems with my 8800GT SLI and thats in a PCIe 1st Generation MoBo so im not getting my fullest power!

huniper For the money, it is a steal. My friend just picked up one for 115 after the mail in rebate. I would say its worth it.

Shh I'm in denial

And @ the 4870 spanking guy, I saw the benches. Far from a spanking. A spanking is what the 8800 ultra gave ati's 3000 series. A spanking is what the 9800gx2 gave the 3870x2.

I'm sorry about the nvidia spankings, but I couldn't think of any since the radeon 9700
