DVtriple6 Aww, I kept having all sorts of trouble with my folding

So.. I haven't been folding for a while as seen in my post bit, I had some processes running crazy, even stealing the CPU from the folding itself.

But thanks to C&D for being willing to help, I'll see if I can get some help elsewhere man, don't worry about it.

This is due to increasing pressures both at school and work. It would be greatly appreciated if either DVtriple6 or kdbolt70 would fill this position. This being said, I will continue to fold for ArMaDa for as long as it remains an active team. I would also like to say thank you to both dv and kd for showing interest in, and supporting this team.

Sincerely,

I'm sorry to hear that dazed, I apologize I didn't see this sooner I happened to stop in here to let you guys know I might not be able to to fold for the team anymore, as my new rig, including a quad core, is currently on its way. That means I'll have 5 cores folding, which I think is too much for the teams

dazed and confused What are you guys thinking about death dealer? He has neither responded to the thread, nor has he responded to my pm. No work units have been returned from him for the past 7 weeks. He was removed from the team once already for inactivity, not realizing this, I let him back on. Do you guys think we ought to let him go and find a new team member?

Cheers,
D&C

Frankly, they aren't that clear to me either, but I will give it a shot.

Copy and paste FAH and all related files into a separate folder. Do everything after this to both folders/programs. Create a shortcut to FAH console.exe. Left click the shortcut and select properties. Add " -local", to the end of the line of text after .exe, including the space, minus the quotation marks. Add " -config" likewise after -local. Open FAH by clicking on the shortcut. Will be asked for your information. When asked for a machine ID, enter 1 for one of your shortcuts. Enter 2 for the shortcut in the other folder. Close FAH and left click and select properties. Remove -config, BUT LEAVE -local. This is my understanding of the instructions, and it seems like it should do the trick. Ask if my directions aren't clear, if you want we can work out the problem over AIM. You are in Norway, but I am sure we can work something out.

I have PM'ed Death Dealer about his lack of activity. He has not responded. I am not active enough on the boards to know if he is still an active member. I would appreciate it if someone would enlighten me as to Death Dealer's activity.

Cheers,
D&C

Oh, and you may want to update the first post
Thanks for the updates. Has anyone heard from Death Dealer? If not, I will drop him a pm.

As for the initial post and team thread title, I would keep it updated if it was possible. However, I was not the team founder, I am merely the last original member. Thus, I did not make the first post in the thread, and therefor cannot update it. I have informed taeric of this, and we have yet to reach a solution.

Thanks again for your updates and continued support.

Cheers,
D&C

EDIT:
Currently, we have kd running 2 cores, dv running 1, death dealer not turning in any wus, and me running 1 core. This gives us a total of 4 cores. Tomorrow, I hope to reconfigure my household networking, and bring another system online in the very near future. This will bring us to 5 cores, not including death dealer. DV, I have included instructions form the FAH website on running 2 instances of FAH on a dual core machine. If you choose to do this, our core count will rise to 6 w/o death dealer. If we do this, we will be sitting much better than we are now. If we don't hear back from death dealer, I will drop him a pm.

Does [email protected] run on dual processor or multi-core machines? Yes, you can in two ways. For linux or OSX/Intel, one can run our SMP client.

For other platforms, additional processors must run the console version (with the "-local" command-line argument if run on Windows). First, make additional directories for each processor and copy the FAH Console executable file into each. Then configure them with the -config switch, filling in settings for each.
