I'm placing an order for all new components for my entire loop in my haf x. I'll be cooling my 2700k and 3 gtx 680's. Right now my idea is obviously utilize a 360 rad at the top and then most likely mod a 200/220mm rad at the front of the case where the front 200m intake fan is. Two things I need advice on - pump and loop order.

What pump would you recommend to push all of this? I was considering the "Swiftech Dual Extreme Duty Small Form Factor 12 VDC Industrial PWM Pump", but maybe that's overkill? Is there a single pump that will do the trick? I'll be using a bay reservoir so perhaps there's a recommended bay pump/res combo? Either way is fine.

As for the loop order: Res > pump > 200mm rad > 3 gtx 680's (serial) > 360 rad > cpu > res
Is this loop order optimal? Will it be ok pumping through the gpu's upwards instead of downwards? Thoughts please smile.gif

Get a vari mcp655

Loop order doesn't matter so long as the res is physically higher than the pump and feeds it directly by gravity. Basically, when your res is full, so is your pump. Other than that, just do the cleanest and shortest runs you can with your tubes. People think if I have a rad before a component, that component will get cooler fluids, it just doesn't work that way.

I second the mcp655 vario. Should be able to handle that loop without any problem. I have mine running on speed setting 4 in a loop with CPU block, 2x GPU blocks, 480mm radiator, and 240mm radiator and it works great. It's really quiet too.
Sean basically nailed everything though. Loop order makes no difference, just have the pump after the res and lower than the res. The water will eventually equalize through out entire loop. I have my two radiator right next to each other in the loop with temperature probes on the in of the first rad and out of the second, and even with all that rad space there is only a 2c difference in water temps

im using a mcp655-b to cool 2x 7970s and a [email protected] works perfect i have a rx360 rad in the top and a rx240 in the bottom with about 5 feet of tubing i run my mcp655-b in a xspc bay res its quiet and runs great. I previously cooled a 5870 and a 5970 with a i7 930 and it did great on those also. You probly will find cheaper prices at jab-tech and sidewinder computers also when ordering the parts both places are top notch.

Here you go. This is the exact one I have. Expect I put an aftermarket pump top on it. An EK X-Top to be more exact

Ok, I built my order - are there any mistakes here, things I should change or add before I place it? (I already have the fans) (I picked the extra o rings just in case) (and I'm not changing the ek csq items - I like the frosted look wink.gif

I highly recommend using colored tubing and Distilled water with a kill coil, dyes stain your blocks and other components. I would also recommend adding a quick disconnect as well, a male and female is about $30.

Distilled water is like $1.50 a gallon, it's much cheaper and practical to use especially when refilling and cleaning your loop which I recommend every 4 months.

Just get colored primochill tubing off amazon, its only $15. Just eliminating the die, water, and tubing will save you a lot more money and also increase the life of your loop.

I'm gambling with the clear tubing because of the clear csq items and mayhems dye, and as for the quick disconnect I opted for the bitspower shutoff valve for size reasons which I realize will drip at first disconnect, is there any reason to opt for the koolance quick disconnects instead?
