I am building another computer for a home theater.I need some advice on what I should go for. I will be hooking this pc up to a 70 inch television.

I am always open to suggestions. So what would you go for?

what air cooler should I go for?

You would not need that big PSU for the build. Any decent 450W would be plenty. Also, what motherboard will you be using ??

predalien 02-28-2015 09:30 PM

For a motherboard

ASUS MAXIMUS VII IMPACT LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard

What do you suggest for a solid power supply I am not cheaping out on a power supply?

huzzug 02-28-2015 09:41 PM

Something like this. Also, for motherboard, i'd recommend Gigabyte, unless you prefer Asus.

Rosewill Capstone series is pretty good, along with most Seasonic or Silverstone , though they will cost more than the Rosewill. Antec has a few choice units as well. You can always check the PSU thread here and find the recommeded PSU's in a certain wattage range. Hope those will give you some clarity. thumb.gif

If you ever want to add actual TV to it, windows 7 with media center may be a better choice, as both it and 8 are to get win 10 free...

And check out pcpartpicker....

Even this would be enough for your build http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371033&cm_re=antec_earthwatts_green-_-17-371-033-_-Product

Will you be playing any 4k content? If so you will want an i3 over the Pentium.

Honestly dude, is there any reason you don't just get an Intel NUC or something similar?

I have been using XBMC on a Chromebox and I am very happy with it

Corsair H50 is one of the worst AIOs on the entire market. Not worth buying whatsoever. It's worse than a Zalman CNSP8900 while running significantly louder, costing more, and being far more prone to breaking down. If you are going to go AIO you generally want to go at least with an H75 and preferably a better unit than that. Though it's not really necessary here as the Pentiums run really cool. I'd suggest a cheap air cooler like the CNSP8900 which can actually fit in the Node 804.
