Hello,

I noticed that on the compatibility of the Z270I monoblock has been updated to include the upcoming Z370-I motherboard from ASUS. However it says that the "Inductor coils won't make contact with the monoblock.", can you elaborate on how deterimental this is and whether something like getting thicker thermal pads can solve the issue entirely. (If so, it would be great if you could advise on what thickness needs to be obtained).

The EKWB site claims that they did a "visual" check.
Surely they should be able to do a physical one now?

@akira749 any news on this? Seems there is a new batch of those monoblocks coming out November 3rd according to EKWB website.

If not, does anyone else knows how thick the pads have to be? It is more than 2mm, which is the maximum thickness of the Minus Pad8?

Seems like this can be solved with thicker thermal pads.

Actually isn't "resolved", because the discussion ended when someone proposed to use 5mm thick pads, with no feedback back. But is 5mm pad needed?

5mm is very big gap, which means Asus chopped almost half of the inductors height? Is crazy even to think about it. Because nothing else has changed, only the inductors cooling.

And it would be better to know the exact thickness needed, because if it is up to 2mm, we can use far superior Minus Pad 8, and not some silicon based, of unknown quality pad.

Nobody said "resolved".

Seems like someone is just going to have to buy both things and check to be honest.
Hopefully it will be EK doing that but either way no point going further based on visuals imo.

Sorry for the delay guys.

The inductors height has changed and it's not making contact with the block anymore but it won't affect any performances and there's no need to add thicker pads over them.

Of course, if you really want, you could fill the gap with thicker pads. I just don't know the height difference though.
