Need some advice for my home theatre setup
Just bought a new house, leaving behind my post divorce bachelor pad...
I currently have a 5.1 setup with wired rear speakers (a fantastic set of Bose 201 speakers). The new place, the family room, there is no way to run wires to the rear speakers (Basement below is completely finished).
I have a Denon receiver and a Polk towers/center/sub.
What are my options for running rear speakers to retain a 5.1 setup?
I'd like to keep my Bose speakers as they are excellent. If not I could always buy a new set of rear speakers.
I have seen gadgets like the Rocketfish Universal Wireless Rear Speaker Kit RF-WHTIB-A
Seems like a fairly simple solution. Has a transceiver at both ends and transmits signal wirelessly. Not a lot of great reviews on Amazon though...
Question is do these work well? Also I have a fairly high output system, do the wireless units have the ability to handle high sound levels?
Or is there a better option?
Did some more digging, other than the Rocketfish unit I linked above and the Amphony units (which have had a lot of terrible reviews), seems like there is no solid solution.
The Amphony 1800 kit seems like an ideal solution, 80w per channel but there are literally horror stories on the reviews.
I really don't want to downgrade to a 3.1 system.
I guess the other option would be to sell my current setup and get the Bose Soundtouch 300 system with sub and wireless rears. Mind you, at nearly 2k (and I have to give up my denon reciever), not sure if its worth it.
