Car mono block and sub impedance?
 
I have a infinity 12 inch sub...infinity ref.1230w..300 watts rms-1300 peak,just bought a used kenwood 500 ips 4 ohmx300 rms [email protected] 2ohm [email protected] ohm..can you hook up 2ohm @ 500 watts,or do you need 2 voice coils..my head unit is a Sound Streamvrn-656b double dinn just trying to get 500 rmsanyone with any info,thanks

You can't select on the amp how you want to run it. It's all based on the sub and how it's wired. IF the sub is single voice coil, then you're stuck running the amp at whatever the sub is. If the sub is dual voice coil, then you can wire it in series or parallel to have different impedance. From what I can find, it seems that your sub is a 4ohm sub. If I'm right, you're stuck running it at 4ohm.
