i need to max my x58 memory as i am planning to get a w3690 soon.
is the 24gb kit still available?

my x58 got two different memory kits 6gb and 12gb with from different brands and timings.
I can get solid overclocks but i cant fiddle too much on the memory timings, so i was looking for complete kit to max it out

my 920 d0 is impressive, i will keep to ln2 it one day.

i wish it was a x5675 chip, i was looking for that one too

Socket 1366 was when Intel decided to standardize the CPU cooler mounting holes. If it fits 1366, it will fit a lot of other modern sockets as well. Just FYI for anyone browsing.

Wonder if the x5670 would work in an HP z400?

A quick Google search says it should if the z400 has 6 memory slots and to make sure the bios is up to date. The posts I looked up mentioned making sure you have proper cooling, depending on the heatsink it may need a little more cooling power? Though the x5670 is 95w not 130w.

It would not be over clockable as it is not unlocked like a W chip would be.

Though I can't guarantee any of this...

Thanks !
