Thermalright Silver Wind Arrow T8/T6

2 Attachment(s)
These popped up on Thermalright China's product page. I wonder when/if they will be available worldwide, or if they are only intended for the Asian market.

http://thermalright-china.com/produc...6%E9%A3%8E-t8/
Price: ¥499 (from TR's Tmall and JD stores)
Dimensions: (LxWxH): 155mm × 103mm × 158mm

Compared to the Silver Arrow IB-E Extreme:
-Lower height (158mm vs 163mm)
-No capped ends on heatpipes
-Single fan only

TY-143B fan specifications:
Fan speed: 600 ~ 1800 RPM ± 10%
Fan noise: 19~25 dBA
Air volume: 33.98 ~ 90.96 CFM
Static pressure: 0.32~3.00mm H2O
Current rating: 0.25A
Bearing type: FDB bearing

Only changes to the fan I can tell are FDB instead of ball bearings, and the lower maximum RPM; no slots in the sides of the frame like the TY-147B.

http://thermalright-china.com/produc...6%E9%A3%8E-t6/
Price: ¥429 (from TR's Tmall and JD stores)
Dimensions: (LxWxH): 155mm × 103mm × 158mm

Compared to the Silver Arrow IB-E Extreme:
-Lower height (158mm vs 163mm)
-Two less heatpipes (6x6mm vs 8x8mm)
-No capped ends on heatpipes
-Single fan only

TY-140 Plus fan specifications:
Fan speed: 500~1500RPM
Fan noise: 17~23dBA
Air volume: 28.32~84.97CFM
Wind pressure: 0.22~2.08mm H2O
Current rating: 0.20A
Bearing type: Sleeve bearing

Same heatsink as the T8 but with the outer two heatpipes removed, 1500 RPM vs the 1300 of TY-147A, and (presumably) a regular old sleeve bearing.

The T8's price is the same as what the Le Grand Macho RT goes for (¥499) and is lower than the IB-E Extreme (¥599); the T6 is priced at ¥429 which is just slightly higher than the TRUE Spirit 140 Power (¥399).

Interesting if not a coincidence, as i was looking for the 'default' ty-143 fans yesterday and could not find them in either of the two local retailers; both of which allowed you to order them btw, so no issues even when out of stock. No more, they're not even listed.
Would be seriously pissed if they stopped making them :)

As to the coolers themselves, can't say i see the point, but.. if it works for someone, why not.

Am now wondering if there is indeed something here, as leaving local and broadening my search, i find none of my 'usual' EU retailers listing the TY143 today either; it's as if it doesn't exist.
Went to amazon.de, three stores have it, but one each; one, lol.

So i went to nan's gaming and bought 6, just to be safe.
Just because you're paranoid.. you know..
@doyll do you have any info on this? Or the inclination to ask?

Thermalright now has 3 websites; thermalright.com, thermalright.de and now thermalright-china.com

Both Thermalright.com and Thermalright.de websites sell all the same products and show the Silver Arrow TR4 as having TY-143 fan, not TY-143B .. and both list size same as Silver Arrow IB-E at L154 mm x W103 mm x H163 mm. Thermalright-china.com has many different cooler combinations not listed on other Thermalright sites.

@Aenra
I just looked on amazon.de and see TY-143 and TY-143 SQ with ball bearing
https://www.amazon.de/s/ref=nb_sb_no...eywords=ty-143

Alternate.de also has TY-143
https://www.alternate.de/html/search...ty-143&x=0&y=0

I mention that myself.. three non-Amazon stores, one fan per store; literally one. In grand total, there are three fans one can buy from Amazon. As again, mentioned above :)
Also, in case you missed this too, i have four retailers, two local and two in EU, that no longer list the TY-143 at all. This usually happens when the manufacturing company tells them 'no more'.

Hence my asking you.
(might be just a coincidence, but.. first time i'm seeing it on a product that's not announced as EOL, so.. thought i'd ask).
Do appreciate your replying however; and if you hear anything, do let us know!

Yeah the cooler market is pretty saturated as it is; I mainly wanted to bring these to attention because of the lower price and better case compatibility through reduced height. It's not quite as short as say a Scythe Fuma being a 140mm based heatsink, but the T6 should perform at least as well for a similar price and potentially lower noise level through the larger fan.

That being said, I wonder if Thermalright will use this TY-140 Plus instead of the TY-147 in their lower priced offerings in the future. It offers a higher maximum RPM, but a potentially cheaper bearing.

thermalright-china.com has the same web design as their Taiwan and English websites at least. The AXP-100 Full Copper was available on Chinese retailers and Taobao some time before being available in EU/NA, and looking through their list of currently available products I didn't see anything else new or missing from the English website aside from these two coolers. A 140mm dual tower heatsink at 50-60USD (compared to the TS140P) sounds like a pretty darn good deal since most of the dual towers at this price point are based on 120mm fans.

One more thing to add is that the included TIM is TF4 according to the storefront thumbnails on Taobao.

Just to post an update, have reached out to both retailers and was given pretty much the same reply; all EU-based stores get them from someone in Germany and they in turn are out of stock. Said German third party is expected to restock early November, so think 'round mid-November for retailers.
So all's fine in the Shire.

@Fullereneshift and sincere apologies for semi-hijacking your thread :)
Was just the coincidence of the fan you mention above with the shortage of the 'older' variant, you know? Got me worried, lol
(which sounds a bit.. extreme i guess, granted, but no other fan of this frame type that goes even near 2500RPM; would have sucked if it was no longer an option)

T8 has been available in EU area for a while, has anyone tested it?
Costs more than nh-d15s where I live though.

Found one review thus far

Owterspace 06-23-2019 06:43 AM

T8 rated at 320w, d15s rated at 220w. Go with what you can afford. Ever since I owned a D14, I thought Noctua was a bit over hyped.

doyll 06-23-2019 10:18 AM

Silver Arrow T8 appears to basically be a stripped down Silver Arrow IB-E without caps on ends of heatpipes and a single 600-1800rpm fan (TY-143B). I have not tested one but I'm betting it will perform the same too, just have a slightly different curve than IB-E with 2x TY-147 1300rpm fans, but basically the same cooling ability with 1800rpm fan possibly giving a degree or two lower temp at full speed.
