rtx 2080 overclocking question.

Hi.
So got an RTX 2080 inno3d in my system.
Few days a go did try to see how far can it overclock.
Did not touch the voltage just core clock with OC scanner/memory clock and power target.

Managed to get +124mhz core and +1000mhz memory in total 2050mhz and 8000mhz.

The question witch worries me. Is it safe to keep such high overclock as long voltage is not touched and temps are around 64c under 1h of furmark and 3dmark stress test passed multiple times around 97.8%.

Need to add that I am using nzxt g12 and corsair h75 as GPU cooling solution.

I think only time will tell with longevity of OCing these new RTX cards. As long as your temps stay in check, I think nvidia is still very much in control of voltage without direct modding of the PCB, shunt mods and the like. So as long as your thermals are in check, you should be fine.

Ive noted on my pair of 2080Tis that power limit is the deciding factor. If you can keep the temps down and don't add any voltage the power will stay lower and you get a better OC. I got to exactly where you are on air pumping it up more did nothing as it would hit power limit by adding volts. With decent water blocks my loaded temps on a hard run dont pass 45C and I managed to squeeze out another 100Mhz to 2150 on the core but thats all she wrote. Keeps it right below the power limit. This is with Strix 2080Ti O11G cards and Phanteks water blocks (first decent ones out for this PCB). EK and watercool are a bit late to the party.

The card won't allow your to do anything to degrade it significantly. Changing frequency doesn't really matter in terms of longevity, load and voltage do.
Even the BIOS has been encrypted so you can't get any massive performance increase unless you have a better bin.

They're made so that any idiot can OC it and not harm it in any way. *sigh*

Fyi the scanner only changes the voltage/clock table, if you want the maximum speed you still have to change it manually or just OC with the slider.

A bit late on reply tough that my post was forgotten :D

But thanks for delivering piece of mind here :)
Never had GPU witch overclocked that high without any voltage changes and the fact that I have not tried to go any further.
Loving my card so far
