External radiator mount

Is it advisable to mount a 140mm rad on the outside rear? My case can accept a 140/120mm fan but the radiator doesn't fit on this inside but does on the outside. And the case also has holes for watercooling tubing on the outside, would mounting a radiator on the outside rear of the case have any negative effects?

no. I ran my first WC loop with the radiator in a separate bracket about two feet from the PC and it was fine.

not at all, here is my build, most of my water cooling hardware, is on the outside of the case. their are pics of the build before and after, plus a complete parts list on the firs post.

now, because you are looking at mounting this radiator on the rear, and on the outside of the PC case, the radiator size no longer really matters. I would really be looking at getting a single 360mm radiator, or larger, even if all you are cooling is a single CPU.

He has a 360mm inside the case, but the 140mm won't fit inside along with it. A piece of info he should have probably added here.

@Montoya1 - no, there is no harm mounting the 140mm outside of the case.

I already am using a 360 mount on the inside on top. This 140mm is just to help supplement. or at least thats the idea!

@ciarlatano Yes what he said. I should have said I have a 360 already.

I have my PA140.3 external, with about 3 feet of 1/2 Tygon between it and the chassis.

Montoya1 02-22-2019 02:20 PM

What 140mm fans would you suggest? I want to do push/pull.

The Pook 02-22-2019 02:26 PM

Depends on your radiator. Can't really go wrong with industrial Noctuas and undervolt them to tolerable levels. I got two NF-A14 iPPC 3000s on my H115i and they're way overkill but great fans.

Bitfenix Spectre Pros, EK Vardar, and ML140s are worth a look too.

Yeah I was looking at the Nocuta industrial. Aren't they loud?
