Titan Black worth it?

1 Attachment(s)
I have a guy locally selling a Titan Black (06G-P4-3791-BR) 6GB for $100 and I can probably get a second one (he has three) for about $150-$175.

I'm assuming this would be a pretty good deal, but I have no clue on the Titan's. I would assume $150-$175 for an SLI Titan Black would be good, or would it be better to just grab a 1060 6GB for $160 from another local guy?

Thank you.

They're about on par with each other, but the Titan Black uses a ton more power and is like ... 8ish years old?

Talk the 1060 guy down in price and buy that IMO. I (essentially) sold my old 1060 6GB for $130 ~6 months ago, $160 isn't that great of a deal on a used 1060.

Go with a 1060, less power consumption- about the same performance.

I snatched 3 gtx 1060's within the last few months for under 130$ on ebay-- one was a 6gb. I assume they were all mining cards, but all of them are working fine.

Okay, sounds like a plan. Yeah, i'm thinking the 1060 local to me was used for mining. He has a few 1060's and some 1070's as well so... I'll throw a $120 offer on the 1060 and see where it goes.

Thanks, The Pook and accskyman. Much appreciated!

If you're thinking of using it for gaming, the 1060 6GB all the way. But if you're doing more than gaming, the Titan OG are still decent compute cards.

I should have added that, 100% gaming rig. I'm currently running two 760 2GB's in SLI, so anything is basically an upgrade.

What are your system specs?

According to the GPU database over on techpowerup the difference in performance between the Titan Black and the GTX 1060 is 6%:
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-spec...an-black.c2549

All the GTX 1060's have a memory bandwidth deficit >= 100 GiB vs. the Titan Black.

How could a single GTX 1060 hope to match two Titan Blacks in SLI?

i7 2600 (non K) Overclocked 4 bins. 3.9 all core / 4.2 single core

If you don't care about power consumption then it is not a bad deal. SLI Titan Black is quite a bit faster than GTX 1060 by a good shot when SLI works perfectly. but if it isn't a single Titan Black is slighty slower.
