LGA 1366 Xeon HAF 932 water cooling

Hey everyone,

I'm changing up an old rig and adding in a Xeon X5675 cpu.

Going to overclock to 4.5 at least and use this as a test rig for water cooling so I'm more prepared for doing it on my new Threadripper build once Computex is over.

There are no kits that support LGA 1366 anymore that I can find. I did once try out the XSPS Rasa kits back in 2012 but failed and sold it lol.

I need some help getting my parts together.

The list of blocks I've found are here.

The Coolermaster HAF 932 case is ok ... not the best nowadays but what res/pump combo would be recommended?

What recommendations on tubing size are there? I'm probably going to go soft tube in this case and PTEG tube in my Threadripper build (not sure what case yet until Computex is over).

The radiator will just be a 240 at the top as that's all that would fit. Are XSPC rads recommended?

I've read about not mixing metals ... so what metal is recommended? Does this mean the block, rad, fittings etc... should all be either aluminium/nickel or copper? What does it mean when a block is gold plated?

Thanks :)

For rad go hardware labs brand,Pump res combo really whatever can fit in the space you have will work they are all pretty much even today. And what block you see is gold color? There is copper bare blocks maybe thats what you seen thinking its gold ?

HAF932 can fit a XSPC RX360 radiator, as I have been running it for several years already. Radiator is about 55mm thick, you just loose the full length of the top 5.25” bay, but still fits a fan controller. Mounted with ports are rear, you can take the PSU plate out if you need to get at the rear fittings, then put it back. I’d use a 5.25 bay reservoir, as that what fits easily, unless you use a EK DDC pump/ reservoir combo on the floor at the 120mm fan mounting. As for 1366 CPU coolers, I believe all the 1156 EKs blocks fit, it’s the rear plate that may be needed. You can still find them, but they are limited supply at this point, as I have the universal and then later one now installed. Easiest tubing to set up is soft hose tubing of course. I’d use Mayhems clear tubing 10/16mm with compression fittings. As for PETG tubing, it does cloud over time some what AFAIK and is not compatible with propylene glycol based coolants, unlike acrylic tubing. Water components can mix as long as you use good coolant and no aluminum parts. Aluminum cooling systems have to use all aluminum parts, or you’ll get galvanic corrosion.

HAF 932 with X58 mobo installed...RX360 radiator was removed for cleaning, but you can see there’s room up top for it with the fans. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...dbc2db60c7.jpg
