[WCCF]Nvidia's Super GPUs, Unleashing Monsters [Updated]

Quote:

NVIDIA’s SUPER Summer starts on 6/21

This also means that AIBs are going to start cutting prices for existing RTX 2000-series cards in anticipation of the SUPER lineup which is going to replace everything from the 2060 to the 2080 Ti.
...
Turns out, there is an RTX 2080 Ti SUPER variant and its a brand new chip. It’s not an old part and it’s not a repurposed Quadro part (trust me, I asked). Oh, and its completely unlocked, meaning the AIBs can have 300 watts TDP on this thing if they wanted to – and knowing the insane custom designs that come out of AIBs, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this.

The RTX 2080 SUPER graphics card, on the other hand, will feature a non-OC 2080 Ti chip that has been unlocked

The RTX 2070 Ti SUPER graphics card is a brand new chip. This will be positioned between the RTX 2080 SUPER and the RTX 2070 SUPER.

fully unlocked you say? That's about the only way they'd get most of us to switch. Do NOT enroll the cards into Project Greenlight, and you'll have an epic OC wave come upon us again.

Probably an official drop to 449 for vanilla 2070 although its already available for that price as of now which means close to 400 price in the market which will embarass 5700XT even more. 5700XT will have to down to 399 and 349 for 5700.

I dont understand, why is it Super? Isnt a new chip means a whole new generation lineup?

So the RTX 2080 Super is faster than a RTX 2080 Ti now?

Ouch....That's kinda a kick in the crawl to al those who bought rtx cards.

i am waiting for the super-duper version

Interesting.

I could understand Nvidia bringing the Ti variants to market to fight the new 5700 and 5700XT, but them refreshing the 2080 and the 2080 Ti with more cores and faster vram may be a sign of what is to come from the red team. Nvidia is even going as far as to unlocking the cards (which they never do) to try and squeeze out every last %. This makes me think they feel the big navi cards might be a strong competitor and they are looking for every possible way to bump performance.

Exciting times for consumers.

Voltage control? VBIOS modding? Full power limit control? That's what I would call unlocked. Dream on.

Ppl were right when they were saying "wait for Navi". Now, they didn't mean to buy NVidia card (me among them), but that will be the way to go, if this rumor is true.

its just a process improvement, and not a good enough one to warrant a naming convention change (see 4xx to 5xx)
