While I can appreciate their efforts that is a pretty feeble attempt at making an actual TR4 cooler.

Enermax Liqtech has better coverage than that monstrosity but these type of coolers continue to unimpress in terms of reliability

GamersNexus covered it already in 240mm size https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3...-liquid-vs-air

buildup problem:

Really though you are better off with custom: just use a pump from EK-WB's SPC-60, or Alphacool's DC-LT pump if you're trying to keep cost down as those are on Asetek closed loop level. XSPC TX360 radiator (~$60) + top performing XPSC Raystorm Neo or Heatkiller IV block (~$120) aren't that terribly priced and if you really want to cut costs on the CPU block Corsair's HydroX series is ~$80 but there's a flat chrome Raystorm Neo for $90 on performancepcs so why bother.

Thanks for the input, trying to not go the custom loop path as IMO it is too much hassle for me personally. Hopefully Corsair comes up with a TR4 AIO with full plate coverage one Threadripper 3 comes out later this year.

EK MLC phoenix is plug and play though

It doesn't have to be much hassle if you just don't need it to look perfect.

You can just build yourself an AIO style loop in minutes.

Think: Watercool Heatkiller IV TR4-PRO + Alphacool Eisbaer extreme Core 280 + 4 fittings + 2 pieces of tube. literally won't take you more than 15 minutes to assemble and fill.

Eisbaer extreme uses VPP755 v3 pump, jury's still out on the reliability as it's not a true D5 pump. The fans on the Eisbaer Extreme and the radiator are decent though. Eisbaer LT and Eisbaer regular version use the DC-LT pump which is what is in the eisstation and having it standalone means it's a cinch to replace it or upgrade to a D5 down the road (you can just remove the pump+reservoir part of the loop).
