[WCCF] Intel Xe Discrete Graphics Cards Spotted in Latest Driver Leak – Four Variants With Up To 512 Cores

This rumor is more juicy than first glance would indicate.

The EU count on the Xe based discrete graphics family would range from 128, 256 and 512.
512 EUs.

Each EU of this intel gen has 8 cores from: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/t...tailed.253928/

That's 4096 cores that drivers are already leaking for. And clocks could be faster in discrete than an apu.

Seems too fast for that to be true.

I hope it is, but I see it as just a very titilating rumor.

right it looks too "big", 512 EUs for example would put it around RX Titan.

I hope AMD gets the chance to bring the pain to Intel with cpu's before Intel manages to punch AMD in the speed bag with a gpu.

To be fair, I would imagine that Intel would need to come into the market with a top tier card. They are most likely going to want to capture the professional market and to do so they will need to compete with Nvidia high end. So some of these rumors do make sense, as to where or not their are true I couldnt say.

eh not really, the best way they could tackle the GPU market is to introduce workstation/pro cards at a really tempting price point.
this means the GPU would still be popular even if it wasn't that good in games, or drivers for games sucked.

the key point is the same with how quicksync is still highly popular.

So confirm we are stuck at Skylake architecture for another 2 generation right?

Comet lake follow by Rocket lake... Intel... As usual.

Could be? I've been hearing about some Ice Lake though.

I'm more concerned about gpu advancements right now as I play 4k60 and it took benching AC Odyssey at 720p high (clouds med, rest ultra) to make my 2015 quad core cpu the clear bottleneck in a well threaded game with a gpu that only one manufacturer is offering a viable upgrade to.

My cpu is currently more than adequate for my uses, my gpu not so much. Competition in the high end gpu market would give someone like me alternatives. There might even be new innovations that improve performance overall. I might get lucky and Intel might even try to buy their way into marketshare with low prices like with Atom, but that is getting pretty pie in the sky considering Intel's history.

It would also be quite the story if a struggling giant of cpu silicon scaled up their product in a related market an order of magnitude faster than the current leaders and caught up before most believed they were even serious about it. We'll have to wait and see.

Shock and Awe Gentlemen.
They plan to Conroe the GPU market.
Anything less and NVIDIA & AMD fanboys will eat them alive.

I don't think the Xe is actually for pretty graphics, fairly certain it's a high burst processing card that "can" graphics.

Just like Vega and Volta?
