I don't really feel like this is real news, considering the 9900KS is just a highly binned 9900K, the former having been clocked higher many months ago. der8auer hit a 7.6GHz overclock on all cores a long time ago - https://valid.x86.fr/zmnzmz

At the end of the day we grabbed a Gold in Cinebench R15 protected by Benchmate (https://benchmate.org/) at a blistering 6,952 MHz, resulting in a score of 3,122 points. For single-threaded benches, we topped out at a whopping 7,300 MHz with superpi32m and pifast.

Did you read the article?

didn't know HWBOT records were news either, lol.

8086K was a binned 8700K but the 9900KS isn't a binned 9900K, it's just a 9900K with a voltage bump and a higher boost table.

Ah, my bad. I didn't think Intel would just end up pushing more voltage to achieve their clocks, honestly.

I read the article but I just frankly can't see how this is news.

have you read this forum?

this is not news to us.

actually have you read the posting guidelines for the news section? nothing personal allowed.

UltraMega 12-10-2019 11:52 AM

Edit:

Soo it looks like he did beat the record, by one point, and the screenshot they included the article is showing the wrong score. This is the actual new record: https://hwbot.org/submission/4278190...9900kf_3143_cb

Also he used a 9900KF not a KS.

UltraMega 12-10-2019 12:09 PM

didn't mean to double post.

So you are saying that you don't find this interesting so it should not have been posted?

i don't answer questions that are an answer to my question.

so i'll repeat; did you read this forum and the news posting guidelines?

edit: and not a good idea saying we are calling this fake:

we are done here.

J7SC 12-10-2019 01:49 PM

back when I was young, this was news, somewhat :) ... "AMD FX BULLDOZER 8 Core Processor overclocked @ 8.429 GHz. Guinness World Record (August 31 2011)"

ryan92084 12-10-2019 04:55 PM

Nice achievement, not a news article.

So you are saying that Ultra did not bring the validity of what was posted in to question? I'm just trying to understand if this result was real or not.

Also, I'm still trying to understand the question about posting guidelines and your comment about nothing personal?

Thanks!

Also: From the guidelines as to what constitutes news:

Things that might (and almost always do) fall into this category are:
An announcement about a new game
Intel's/AMD's latest roadmap/platform announcement
A new record overclock
A Tweet/Facebook post from a company/retail executive with a significant announcement (please ensure these posts are public as some members may not possess accounts/sufficient permissions for the respective sites)

I'm not sure what is going on here. Clearly the record is real. It's only one point higher so barely a new record, but still a record. It's boring news, but still technically news.

Would have been a lot easier if toms hardware hadn't posted the wrong screenshot showing the wrong score initially. Seems like everyone here except you and I are just confused by the OP, and I don't blame them.

It could be that I was confused. If so I apologize.

Hi,
You could start a new 6.9MHz club I believe 7000MHz is a better round number though :)
