Ive been looking too and really what matters if your gameing is the response time. Anything at or below 16ms is good enough to game without a hitch. I don't know of anything else that matters because im not sure of what else make a difference.

As stated above, response time is the biggest issue for LCD's. A high response time (anything above 16ms) will cause ghosting, which will drive you nuts when gaming.

You also want the smallest dot pitch you can find...

Dont sweat refresh rates, they do not matter with LCD's

Most namebrands are good, but you will find they hurt your wallet too. BenQ has been an up and coming brand...Viewsonic of course is good, NEC also makes great LCD's.

You could find one that is just as good for like 100 bucks less if you look hard enough.

I can't seem to find anything wrong with the ones here. Maybe X can but i can't. They also cost like 120 less.

link not working, yeah i have also been searching around, LG and Acer are pretty fairly priced name brand LCD's .The way i have been looking at it, coz as X said u don't wanna hurt your wallet. for a decent 17" you should pay around $300 for a 19" around $400 then the prices for anything bigger is just LOL. if u find anything nice post, maybe i can steal some ideas from you, so far i have in mind 17" Acer AL1714CB that has a 14ms response time, 19" AL1912b
16ms, 19" BenQ FP931 this has DVI and 16ms, LG1710SK 16ms. all these i found at www.newegg.com. call me foolish, but i when i buy things from them, i like to buy items with lots of reviews, and if you see a recurring problem then stay away. goodluck

Best Buy has got a Sony LCP 19" inch monitor for something like 699 (ill check). Did I mention 12ms respons time. Nicest screen i've EVER looked at. And hey if you find it cheaper Best Buy will beat the price and then some. : )

yeah but that doesn't include online stores, usually talking abt circuit city and compusa, ect. and those are comparably priced. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...133-147&depa=1 has a 12 ms for a couple hundred cheaper

How do you know if the response time claimed is legit? I see some list 25 ( 10 +15 ) and the like. I would prefer a .26 dpi or better as well, but that's pricey.

I always search for the manufacturers web page with specifications on it. Whatever the manuf. says, I believe...and I return it if otherwise.
