One day I decided to buy a 3770k that was on deep discount at a local Microcenter. A few weeks later I had rebuilt myself an entire new rig from keyboard to mousepad in black/red. It's pretty high end for what I'm used to, and also the first computer I built myself from the ground up, so I'm proud of it! Hope you like it.

How do you think this rig will handle graphic design and high end gaming? I run multiple applications that are almost open together (Adobe Photoshop/After Effects, video editing) and I'm looking for a good rig that can handle the work load.

The rig definitely handles high-end gaming without a problem, for me. That's mainly what it was built for, after all. I run at full 1080p on a single 24" ASUS 2ms LCD, Skyrim 8xAA/16x AF @ full ultra - 60 FPS, Farcry 3 Full ultra 2xAA (online) - 50-60 fps, crysis 3 very high/2x SMAA - 35-60 fps (Depending on the area), The card/cpu runs great together! Also, it is said you only need an i5 3570k for good gaming with overclocking, but I went with the i7 3770k because I too dabble with photoshop and other programs that take advantage of hyper threading on the i7. Another advantage of Asrock Extreme mobos is the ability to easily set up a Ramdisk in XfastRAM (which can be used for a photoshop scratch disk/paging file) which really speeds things up alot more! It does great for what I throw at it and barely breaks a sweat, but the ONLY other thing I could really recommend you do is grab another 16GB of the same RAM mentioned. (bringing the total to 32GB) With all the things you talk about running at the same time, it would be to your advantage to have all that RAM available and also that would allow more to be available for the XFast RAM disk I mentioned earlier!Hope this helps!

Any of the games I just mentioned run at perfect 60fps (my monitor limit) all the time if you turn off the AA. It should be a great gaming rig for a good bit of time. Also, it is said you only need an i5 3570k for good gaming with overclocking, but I went with the i7 3770k because I too dabble with photoshop and other programs that take advantage of hyper threading on the i7. If you are doing serious video editing and alot of photoshop it is almost imperative that you go with the i7 (for hyperthreading alone). Another advantage of this build and Asrock Extreme mobos is the ability to easily set up a Ramdisk in XfastRAM (which can be used for a photoshop scratch disk/paging file) which really speeds things up alot more!
