It replaced a dying 2500k system. The 2500k was windows stable at 5.2, but only Battlefield 3 stable at 4.8. Towards the end I had to run it at 4.7.

Back to 4.8 stable with the new 1.5 bios.

The D14 has 3 fans and a shroud between the front-most fan and fins. Temps seem largely controlled, but I'm considering an NZXT X60 or an H320 if they go back on sale in the US.

The 6990 is aging and will be replaced for Battlefield 4. Hopefully it'll be quieter as it is by far the loudest part of the system, even at idle with the fans profiled down to 20%.
