I just changed the ratio using ASRock Extreme Tuner from 33 to 41 giving me 4.1GHZ. Using Core temp I got my temps at around 30-34 idle (the same as stock clock) and on load I went from 49-54c to 60-64c (100%load) using 3dMark 11 to test.
I jumped up about 124 marks to 4914 3DMarks.
I'm wondering if this is a safe speed with my system. I have no idea how to use any stability software.
Going to bed I'll check replies when I wake up and respond.
P.s. I'm new to overclocking.
EDIT:
System Specs:
ASROCK Extreme 3 Gen3 Z68
i5 2500k 3.3GHz stock Stock Cooler.
8GB Gskill Sniper 1600
MSI nVidia GTX 560 TI Twin Frozer II
500GB HDD
Thermaltake armor series 80003 case
5 case fans. 1 side, 2 front 2 rear.
I left everything stock and just changed the CPU ratio from 33 to 41. and turned off turbo
my g15 screen shows 4090.61MHZ (99.77) x 41.00) - 1.36V with the voltz fluctuating
Based on all this how far do you think it could reasonably go? and if you need more info tell me how find it and I will grab it for you.
Is there any free easy to use stability software I can run?
I'd like to overclock my 560ti till I can afford to drop in a second one but all that stuff is foreign to me and I don't understand the MSI afterburner software.

I'm going to tune down the OC. ran Prime 95 torture test with 4 threads for about 10 minutes and approached 80c. I know that isn't good. unless one one of you more experienced people can say otherwise.

Yeah even at 4.0 using the asrock optimized setting im hitting the 80c mark right away. though It should be find for everyday use till I can get a cooler. I've heard good things about the hyper 212+. My goal is to run 2 20% OC SLI 56ti's and have my i5 at around 4.7 - 4.8.
