Where did you find those radgrillz in black? All I'm finding is stainless steel. I think those are sharp, I was just going to go the DIY route with some black acrylic, but those look nice.

[edit] another question, this may sound silly, but where are your HD's going to go?

Sorry for the slow progress guys. I got distracted with a few small home repairs. Good news is I'm now refocused on the project and plan on steam rolling towards having this project up and running by the weekend (minus the interior painting

). For now, here's what I have done since my last update.

Update 8:
Drilled holes for terminal block and will mount it behind the 5.25" bays

Cut out a 120mm hole and mounted my the 120mm radiator... this project will now house 3 internal radiators

Hole cutout for some wires, the sharp edges were ground down first with a dremel then hand filed

Early mock up of what the final cable routes will be like. I plan on laying down a few more cable tie bases for the main ATX power cable and the other cables going up in that direction.

Stick around guys, if all goes according to plan, I'll have a bigger update coming within the next few days.

Sub'd I can't wait to see this completed. I too have a p180, and just ordered one of the XSPC Rasa RS240 kits, so I'm trying to think of ways to set it up. I'm debating between adding another 240 Rad, or a 360. After seeing your mod, and a couple others I'm definately leaning toward a 360. Keep up the great work!
Thanks guys.

Thanks, I ordered a few screws that weren't available from mcmaster-carr. The base shipping price was a little high for what I ordered though...

Do you have work log or pictures of your case? I'm interested in seeing it.

I answered your questions in a PM but if anyone else is curious, acryan.com used to be a site for computer mods. But since a year or two ago, the site is now focused on selling a media player device... I don't know if there was an owner change, but I can assume that all of the prior A.C. Ryan modding gear has been discontinued.

As for the question about my hard drives, I'm using a Scythe Bay Rafter Combo. It houses my regular hard drive along with my 2 SSDs all within one 5.25" bay.

Another update.

Update 9:
I bought a few more black screws and thumbnuts to mount my blocks
5968409181_8693516302_b.jpg

While I was working on my cable management, I tried putting the side panel back on and ended up breaking this clip because the cables I bundled were too thick and put too much pressure on the panel. I have fixed my cables so that they're now as flat as possible to prevent this from happening again
5968409427_969714c71e_b.jpg

Leaving the clip broken wasn't an option for me, the side panel didn't sit flush against the case so I was determined to fix it. I tried plastic cement but it didn't work so I went out and bought some plastic epoxy. I used my old Calculus book to put pressure on the clip while the epoxy was setting...

In this picture, I have my 240 and 120 radiator fans hooked to the terminal block to test

Here's an overview of what my cables look like, it's a few zip ties away from being the final revision. I'm missing my hard drive power adapters, pump wires, rear fan cable, and my front panel cables. The terminal block is powering 9 Gentle Typhoons

I'm currently working on my front panel cables, I had to extend them to hide them away neatly

I'm an update or two away from having the project up and running. I plan on wrapping up my cable management and plumbing either by tomorrow or Monday, stick around guys

I have finished tubing the computer but I want to work on a little house cleaning before I fill the loop.

Update 10:
Here's how the front panel buttons, leds, and USB ports are connected. I didn't like covering up the buttons, but it made the cable management easier for me

Sorry for cutting this update short of water, but I had tools and screws scattered everywhere. It was driving me nuts and I had to do something about it. I wanted to fill the loop on a happy note

Sorry for the stalled project. Shortly after update 10 I introduced water and bled the system. It's been running perfectly ever since. I actually haven't made any more progress, I still have the blue masking tape on my panels...
tongue.gif

BUT, I did order some things that arrived last week and it should wrap up the project once I install them (minus painting the interior). I will try to take some artsy shots to wrap things up soon.

Thanks for the interest guys.

looks pretty sick! I love builds like these!

Impressive on how you got 3 rads in there.

As for your tubing you could cut them a little longer to decrease your chances of a leak I see some gaps between the barbs on your motherboard.

Either way keep it up!

Sorry for never posting final shots guys... I was busy with my final semester at my university and trying to find employment

.

Anyway, I bought some fittings a while back but I wanted to wait until I was ready to clean and re-tube everything before installing them. I recently just ordered some more tubing and plan to wrap things up soon!

Here are some teaser pictures for now.

Actually, that tubing is a bit harder to do than it looks. If I try to have the tubing seat against the end of the barb to remove those small gaps that you see, then the tubing kinks. I made sure the zipties were on real tight and nothing has leaked since.

But I did order some 60 degree fittings and extenders. They should help me clean up my tubing a little bit.

Looks really good. It's nice to keep everything inside.

I found this from looking at your Antec 300 build. I think I'm going to take out my 3.5" and my 5.25" bays next.

Probably a silly questions but can you tell me what those sections are in between the radiator and the fan which I presume forms a kind of tunnel? For the life of me I can't think what they are called and I want to find some but can't as I don't know what they are called lol.

Cheers

Thank you for the comments Mr Ripper! Those "sections" are called shrouds, in my project I actually just used old fans and gutted the internals out of them (justs cut the 4 posts that connect the fan to the frame with pliers). I haven't tested whether they actually help or hurt performance but they do seem to make my fans run quieter. More distance between the fan and radiator I suppose.

One of these days I'll take final pictures. I apologize to anyone who had subscribed to this thread.

Mhmmm, I've heard that one before. xD

I finally decommissioned my old p180, and moved into a p280 last week, going to leave the p280 stock, and take my old gutted out p180, and turn it into a radbox for my other rig.

Between my job and modding + maintenance on my car on the weekends, I really haven't had the opportunity to work on the box

. Spring is coming up though and I need to change out my tubing soon though! Appreciate that you're still subscribed anubis. How do you like the 280?

Haha, I was just giving you a hard time. I'm digging the p280 so far, a couple things I don't care for, but in general, a big step up from the stock p180. My biggest complaint is they didn't offset the top 120 fan placement like on my Arc Midi (further away from the motherboard to allow larger radiators, or push/pull). Fractal Design is the only company I've seen do that, but once you're used to it, it just doesn't make sense to do it any other way.

Nice work you've done there. I'm also looking forward to seeing some finalised pictures

I have a question about how you went on mounting the grill to the chassis.
Really liking the look of the socket head screws to hold the fan, but how did you mount the grill itself?
Are there any vibrations? Any padding used?
Haha I'm sorry for all the questions but I think it looks very neat and would probably would look at doing the same on my Lian Li PC-V1000 mod.
