0110 error code

2476 Views 12 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Martkilu
My 360 has the error code 0110 right now, I got it during ~2 hours of halo 3 today after leaving it on for ~3 days. According to llama it's memory overheating. I have the fan modded to 12v so I didn't think this was the problem. It says to fix to do the x-clamp fix, but I already have custom sinks on the GPU and CPU. The other fix is to re-heat the chips, which I might do later. I was wondering if placing mem chip coolers like these would work. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated

Have you let it cool down to room temp before trying again?

Yes, just got back from a local pc for ramsinks and it still overheats. Thinking of just baking it :/
Also a clients xbox has the C3U6 "resistor" (brown rectangle) knocked off. All of the 360 works except the dvd drive. Any clue if this really is a resistor and what the value of it is? (sorry didn't want to start another thread)

what do you mean by all of the 360 works except the dvd drive? does it get to dashboard? does the dvd drive power on and what happens when you insert a game?

The DVD Drive receives power but will not eject (is there a force manual eject button like the pinhole on pc drives?). It can get to dashboard just fine and it all seems to work with the exception of the eject button. I'll get a pic up tonight. Altex, Radio Shack and other places had no idea what the piece was
.

Edit: I baked the xbox mentioned in the OP and it works good so far

so the drive powers on but it doesnt eject? it makes kind of a "pop" sound when u eject?

is it a samsung drive by chance? i had the same drive and basically its a magnet problem that is pretty common with those drives. i have 2 samsungs and BOTH have the same problem.

It just stopped working when the little brown thing was knocked off he said :/
I want to say its a lite-on. It won't eject at all. Is there a way to do a manual eject? I can get pics up in about an hour (sooner if I can find on google)

i believe the manual eject hole is behind the tray cover. just lift and pop it off. since the 360 has already been opened, see what kind of dvd drive is inside. if its a samsung that is stuck then i can help with that because ive fixed 2 of them with the same problem of not being able to eject.

Alright I'll check and report back
Thanks for the help so far
I want to say it's a Lite-On but I would have to check.

Here's the pic, enlarge it and the small brown rectangle in the red square is the piece that is knocked off. The motherboard has "C3U6" printed next to it.

i have no idea what that piece is lol. if you can turn it on and get to dashboard then you should be good. if its a lite on and its not ejecting then you might have had a bad flash.

like i said, confirm the dvd brand and i can continue to help you from there =)
Alright I'll post later tonight thanks man

Sorry I never got back to you, got called into work. The drive is a samsung, but I think I found out what that part is from here. The piece knocked off looks exactly like a "0805 Capacitor" capacitor according to the guide so I will try that soon and report back
