Ok, I have an extra stick of 256pc2100 ram, I could stick it in my system, but I don't want to overclock some crap ram, and fry it...would it be more beneficial if I stuck that in, and reverted back to 1.8ghz...or just leaving my processor at 2.4ghz and having 1 stick of 512mb ram? OR should I try and see if it'll overclock from 133mhz..to 166?

hehe no heatspreader, its an old stick of 256 from like....2001 lmao you think it'd jump up 33mhz? I mean that's not that big of a difference is it?

xie if i can get this stick working at ddr333 standards, then I'll have 768mb..instead of 512
that means cs would run a tad better...

Yes but don't forget the system will operate at the lowest RAM speed so you shall be lowering the performance of the DDR400.
Just stay with the 1x512Mb and opt for another cheap 512Mb RAm soon, like you can get a new stick from newegg over there for like USD$ 35.00

true, but my cpu is only running at 2.4ghz, on a 533mhz fsb. I'll only be pushing one stick past its limit, and the other one won't be breaking a sweat lol. I run the pc3200 at 166 anyway. and I just wanna put it in to get me by till summer, when I get my new rig
