In the market for some over the ear headphones. I am done with the ear buds...I had a pair of the Bose ear buds that finally broke. Music is my primary concern. Mainly music from my IPod or Sig rig. I listen to all types of music except country. So a good overall sound is needed. I do still enjoy the bass of hip hop/rap and electronic music. I will be using these headphones for movies on my computer occasionally.

I do already own a pair of AD700s for gaming that was suggested by this forum and thats why I am asking for a music solution. I really like the AD700s and glad this forum pointed me in the right direction.

Any suggestions for my music set?

Audio Technica M50s or Ultrasone 680

Take your pick. Both excellent headphones. Won't be disappointed. The Ultrasones are heavier on bass and also more expensive, but you should be able to get them in your price range.

Based on the music I listen too, do you think I would even notice or need the additional bass?

The reviews I am looking at and obviously the price I am leaning towards M50s.

Depends. I think the Ultrasones are probably a more solid pair of headphones, but the fact that you can ebay them for 106 or less at times makes the M50s AMAZING for their price. I know of people that dislike the ultrasone sound, but it's REALLY rare to find people that were not happy with the M50s.

If anything, most people drop the M50s simply because they're wanting to upgrade.

I really enjoy my Ultrasone Pro 550 for all sorts of music and gaming as well. I have to update my review thread soon but I have never played BC2 with as much pinpoint accuracy as I finally got to do last night with the Pro 550.
