I'm about to get 120hz monitor next month, but i don't know which 1 to get, and i don't know which one is the best.

120hz Monitors:

Alienware Optx
Benq XL2410T
LG W2363D
Asus VG236H
Acer GD245HQ
Acer GD235HZ
Samsung 2233RZ
Viewsonic VX2268WM
ASUS VG236HE

are there other 120hz monitors that i haven't listed?

are you looking for 3D gaming, 2D performance, or mix of both?

it would also help to know what kind of rig you have and what games you plan to play, processing power to drive the games to merit a 120Hz monitor (whether 3D or 2D) is very demanding, a smaller 1680x1050 resolution would be much easier to feed than 1920x1080

If you only want 1, get the LG W2363D or the BENQ XL2410T. Both have been shown to perform the best in terms of input lag (almost always 0ms) and both have some of the lowest refresh rates of all those listed. Combined they = win in fast paced FPS games.

If you want to run more then 1, like 3x monitors for larger viewing area (ie. using Eyefinity etc), then:
  1. If they will all be landscape, still get LG or BENQ
  2. If they will all be portrait, get the ASUS VG236HE and skip the LG or BENQ, as they have a bottom edge that is larger and not suited to portrait mode - same with all the others

Edit: youtube clip regarding 120hz BENQ - voice is from Team Immunity's Alex 'plagueske' Garon:

I'm looking for 2D performance, I play sc2, bfbc2 vietnam, league of legends, tf2, and css.

my rig is i7 920 @ 3.3 ghz, G.skill 6gb @ 1600, intel x25-m 80GB, gtx 570 sc @ 875/1750/2000.

when you're gaming on 120hz on 2D performance you're not going to notice a difference between 2ms and 5ms. I use the Samsung 2233rz and love it, but I've never compared it to other 120hz monitors so I can't say it's better/worse than any of them. The color is better than any CRT that i've had in the past, but playing on 640x480 in CS does look grainy, 800 looks amazing.

If I buy another one it will be the BenQ XL2410T or Asus VG236HE.

YES, you're game is going to look 10x smoother in 120hz compared to 60hz in 2D gaming.

Acer Gamers GD235HZbid. If you look on their site, the picture shows that it's black when it actually has orange on it. The Asus VG236HE is good too. You can't go wrong with Asus.

vg236he is great but definately the LG since it has no input lag.

I like my Asus VG236H that I got with the bundled Nvidia 3D glasses. Beautiful monitor with a nice glossy screen. I thought it might be an issue where I "compute" as there's flourecent lights and I was worried about glare, but it turned out to be a non-issue.

Adjustments are easy and the stand is awesome for adjustability for my future surround setup.

Do they make 120hz monitors bigger than 24"? I'm not seeing any anywhere, and currently looking for an upgrade. Don't wanna spend that much for a 2" gain, though.

The upgrade to 120Hz isn't about an increase in screen size.

Part of it is, for me. I want a 120hz monitor, was just wondering if they make them any bigger than 24". I'm more interested in 27"+.

I was excited to see the 27" models starting to be released, but I was very disappointed with the resolution. They are the same 19x10 that the 23" are. Hardly seems worth the extra cost to me (although pricing hasn't been released). All I can imagine gaining is about a foot of desk space in front of me.

I think I'm going to get an LC W2363D despite waiting for years for these larger 120hz to be released. Just not enough resolution for that size IMO. =(
