Looking to upgrade the front fan of the Cooler Master 690 with something else, with Blue LED's.

I was looking at 2 different ones.

I will be ordering about 3 of them, 2 in front, one somewhere else, and replace the stock as an exhaust out of the top.

Go with the loons. I had those thermaltakes and they were loud and died :/. I would suggest getting non led fans though. They arent as good as regular fans and much more annoying.
I like the 2 front LED fans, looks kinda cool.

I figured the loon's been reading good stuff about them.
The stock fans are plain sleeve bearing according to coolermaster's specs. That makes them unsuitable for prolonged operation in horizontal orientation (Lifetime and performance will be greatly reduced due to issues with lubrication).

A better way would be to replace the front, zip tie another to the bottom 3 drives bays, then get 2 cheap ball bearing fans for top exhaust.

The interesting thing about thermaltake thunderbirds is that the stock fans that come with the thermaltake armor look similar but have a different shade of blue LED and perform very well even when volt modded to 5v.

Get yates, antecs or zalmans.

These are no where near as powerful but they're very nice and quiet running @ 100%. I have 3 of them in my Antec 300.

Wonder what I could use the stock front LED fan for then.

They're sleeve bearing but do well in tests.
Yea those Thermaltake ones are NOT 28dba. They arn't TOO loud (for me) but they are more like 38dba not 28.

I second those. They're cheap, push enough air, and are quiet. I have a bunch of them and haven't had any fails.
