I currently have 1680x1050 screen but since i'm getting into youtube,i really want the best for my channel and stetched 16:10 to16:9 isn't working. And honestly, everything is now made for 16:9 screen,i have black bars all over the place(youtube, other video sharing sites). The thing is - with my current resolution and monitor,i have the perfect frames per second that are playable for me.I play mainly BF3 so a minimum of 60fps is a must.I play on medium because of that (no SSAO) - i get min of 60fps and avg ot 70-75fps whenever i bench.I know it's probably not worth it ,but i want it really badly and a new screen isn't that expensive: IPS 24" 1920x1080 costs around 300LV (my currency). How much of a performance decrease i should expect given that my resolution isn't that much smaller than 1080p:
1680 - 1920 - around 200 pixels more
1050 - 1080 - 30 pixels more only
Should i expect,let's say,5FPS lower or..? More,less?
Thx in advance!

More. Your decrease in FPS when going from 1680x1050 to 1920x1080 when running BF3 on that 6850 in your sig would be around 8. (source)

On this benchmark,it shows it's running 1920x1200 ultra quality and on the other one - 1680x1050 high quality. Then the difference is 8fps.

As a guy with a 1680*1050 monitor that looks at what people with 1080p monitors get in benchmarks and games, I can honestly you will take a bit of a hit. Not super big, but it can range from 8-12 FPS.

My bad. It should still give you a pretty good idea how much of a hit you'd be taking though.

Damn,if the hit is really that significant,i'll first invest in a new GPU(HD 7950 = 500LV ,new monitor -300LV) so i can hold that resolution with a good fps.Thx for the good and fast responses, really appreciate it!! +rep for you all
