1st off, hope this is the right section to post. If it's not just leme know and I'll move it.

So I've had my 80gb iPod classic for a little under 2 years now, and over the past few months I've had nothing but problems with it. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that the hard drive in it is slowly going down the crapper. So I've been looking at some new MP3/MP4 players, and I've kinda narrowed my choice down to either the 16gb Zune HD and the 8gb iPod touch. Both are around $200 (I'm a poor high school student lol). I like the Zune HD because it has better video quality, better radio, twice the memory, AND it's not apple.. lol. However, I like the iPod touch because it has a slightly larger screen and has a bunch of more apps. But.. it has half the memory.. and it's apple lol (sorry I'm kinda pissed at them right now.. haha). Does anyone know how well the internet feature of the Zune is? All I would really use it for is to check facebook and maybe e-mail or ocn when I'm away from my computer. Also, how is the Zune software? Is it better or worse than iTunes? (assuming the further is possible lol)

Any help and recommendations are greatly appreciated

Zune HD ftw. I love my zune, but I also only use it to find music and as a mp3 player. No apps, games, or wi-fi. However I do occasionally listen to HD radio. Burns battery like a mf though. This is an easy decision if you ask me.

I loved my old Zune Gen1. The build quality was great and it was perfect for radio/movies/music. The new one should do the same a lot better along with a few games which is really all you need unless you have ADD. Get the Touch only if you need apps more than actual media. You'll have almost no space for what it's intended for after installing some apps though. Not to mention the Touch lost its "cool factor" since everyone has it. You'll totally get, like, a million girlfriends with the Zune HD.

Pretty much what I was gonna say. I don't have a need for all those apps (because I have a Droid), so my Zune HD suits me perfectly.

Cool factor - Ipod
Screen - Zune
Gui - Zune
Software (Zune vs Itunes) - Zune
Apps - ipod
Music - Zune
Movies - Zune
Radio - Zune
Free firmware updates - Zune

If you want the cool factor with your friends, or the ability to run an endless amounts of apps then go for the ipod. If anything else on the list tickles your fancy the ZuneHD would be the better purchase.

I sold my ipod touch for a Zune120 because the only feature the touch had was the apps library which i never even used.

Thanks guys, really appreciate the advice. It will be mainly used for music and videos. I don't think my 80gb ever saw more than 20gb of stuff on it at its peak. Between movies and music. I don't really have a need apps and games. Once I watch a movie or hear a song enough I usually take it off, so space shouldn't be a big problem. In my library I have probably 6,000 songs and countless movies, but like I said, I have no intentions to have everything on it at once. So I guess I'll be going with the Zune.

Thanks a ton guys!!
