I figured my $2,700 gaming paradise is not going to work!

☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼ ☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼

So how about I share what I have/will purchase:

OCZ ModXStream + XFX 5770..............= $227 (AR)
AMD x4 965 140w + MSI 790FX-GD70.. = $280 (AR)
CoolerMaster Storm Scout.................... = $41 (AR)
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (PC12800).. = $80
Western Digital Caviar Black ................. = $70

☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼ ☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼
ISO:
-Recommendation on an optical drive (must be compatible with win7 64bit)
- " " mousepad & a REAL gaming keyboard

☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼ ☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼

Do I need an aftermarket cooler, since I'm getting a c2 step 965?
I will OC my cpu once I learn how(same with gpu/memory)

☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼ ☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼

It doesn't make sense to spend $150 on a gaming keyboard, but maybe $65 on a Logitech G500!

Instead of spending $150 on a gaming keyboard... I figured why not spend $30 more and get a second XFX 5770?

So I will take my uncles offer on his free keyboard, and use my MX518 for a bit <I am missing one skate, and using a grimey mouse pad>

He also will let me have his Xerox 19" LCD that has been discontinued for months. He says the LCD has a glass cover, that doesn't give off that bad radiation. Not too sure what he means, can anyone guess what monitor he is talking about?

The monitor I will buy before getting a new mouse, mousepad, keyboard, and computer desk/chair=
Samsung 2233RZ = $300

Not sure if CF is over-kill for a 120hz monitor @ 1680x1050..but I really am shooting for 120 fps in games.

All optical drive works on any Windows. Now for the aftermarket cooler. MUGEN-2 SCMG-2000 and a Scythe ULTRA KAZE 3000 is a very setup.

Very cheap, very nice? Please, let me know

Also, thank you so much for helping me in all my other threads!

How many Scythe's do I buy? Do I need any addittional equipment?

What kind of thermal paste/compound do I buy?

I barely know how to put a computer together, because I have no experience! I do have man cashews to attempt it all! Even the after-market /w thermal paste

I second the Mugen 2, you only need one, but you can add another fan for a little extra cooling, although I think the ultra kaze 3000's are really loud.

All you need is the Mugen 2 really, it comes with a fan and thermal paste, however if you want to get better fans and thermal paste, to get better temps, you are more then welcome to. I can't really say what the best thermal paste is, because I use Tx2, because it came with my cooler. Fans it depends on how much loudness you can tolerate.

Also remember, you don't need that much thermal paste, a rice sized dab in the middle will do fine and then when you apply the heatsink, the weight of the heatsink will spread the compound out, you can wiggle it from side to side as well to aid it in spreading. If you use too much you can actually hurt your temps.

Good luck and make a build log when you get it so we can all follow you!

Thanks a lot, and thanks for your help in all my other threads! I most definately will make a build log. I am buying my mother a 10-12 megapixel camera (if you know where I can get a deal lmk), and I will be taking pictures of my first time attempting a custom build.

Or go to frys... and buy a 965 125w for the same price sold on newegg & buy an OPENBOX: ASUS M4A79T Deluxe for $120?

Keep in mind the OP:ASUS M4A79T Deluxe = same price as ASUS M4A79XTD EVO.

$315 @ frys for the better 965 + better mobo!

Do I go now? Or what?

Yes ultra kaze 3000's are really loud , but I'm running with a fan control to control the noise. He can use the 2000rpm version. I use OCZ freeze for thermal paste. It is the 4 or 5 best (+2c on the best) and no cure time or burn in time.

purchased items

gskill ripjaws 4gb PC12800
XFX 5770
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w
CM Storm Scout

I didn't want to buy the 965 125w yet, because I'm waiting to buy a mobo at the same time.

What wins?

MSI 790FX-GD70 / ASUS M4A79T Deluxe / ASUS M4A79 Deluxe

ASUS M4A79 Deluxe is DDR2 so it is out because your order DDR3 1600. ASUS M4A79T Deluxe is the best for ocing.
