2 285's same benchmarks and win scores

It is really odd. I get the same benchmarks and win scores with 2 cards in as I do one. I am onthe Rampage II Extreme board. I have the newest drivers. I have the sli bridge connected. It recognizes both cards. Any ideas that might help?

Yeah make sure you enabled SLI in Nvidia Control Panel.

yup, along with the enhancement patch. the newest beta drivers. I am thinking it is a mobo problem

Is SLI enabled in the BIOS also?
im not seeing anywhere in the bios to enable it or in the manual
everest ultimate will show if sli is enabled
* I have (2) 285/sli also asus X58
It is showing both cards with SLI enabled. One at 16x and one at 8x. How do I get them both to 16x??

Put them in the correct slots. As I recall , your board has 3 pci-e slots, ,2 blue ones and a white one.

The top two are mechanical 16x and the bottom one is mechanical 8x.

If you use the top two slots, you get 16x16x for each card. Using either of the top two slots in conjunction with the bottom slot gives you 16x8x.

(Use the two blue slots)

Yah, thought of that....thanks though. It reads one as 16x and one as 8x no matter where I put it.
If you're switching back and forth between sli on and off you know you should reboot each time, right?

Also, with 'stock' settings (no AA, 1280x1024) Canyon Flight is the only test on 06 that's going to be significantly faster with SLI-enabled. They all should be a bit faster (except the cpu tests of course) with SLI, but Canyon Flight is the only one that really scales well at all. The resolution on '06 is so low that the other tests are pretty well cpu-bottlenecked when running SLI 285's.

Try benching with Vantage (preferably on High or Extreme) or Crysis or one of the Stalker benchmarks (Clear Sky or Call of Pripyat) using some tougher graphics settings (Very High, some AA, 1080p or above res) and you'll see a much bigger difference w/multi-gpu.
Ok, so here is something interested too. When I go to nvidia control panel and click on "performance" I get a BSOD saying nvoc64.sys and a mem dump. It happens every time. Maybe I should wipe out all the nvidia drivers and reboot, then reload my drivers?

It depends which slots the cards are in. If you have them in the 1st and 2nd there is an option in the bios to force the 2nd and 3rd into 16x/1x. If you have the card in the 3rd slot the best you can do is 8x.

So this may be ignorance on my part, but if I put them in 16x/1x that is better than 16x in slot one and 8x in slot 2 that I am currently running?

I got it to about 42FPS on on the crysis benchmark with everything compeltely maxed. It says it is using 1448mb ram so I know it has to be using both cards

Should I try the 16x/1x setting?

I made that change to 16x/1x and it got to 52-54fps on the crysis benchmark at 1920x1080 maxed out, 4x AA, all the filtering turned on. I would guess that I am ok then? That is about all there is to get? Everest still thinks the second car is running at 8x but I doubt it is with the 10-12fps improvement I got from making the change
