Hey guys my friend has an old Laptop with a ton of pictures on the Hard Drive he would like recovered. The laptop was ruined and all he wants off of the HDD is the pictures. I have little experience in the IDE drives so my question(s) are:

1. Can I mount the drive to my current (see Sig Rig) system and pull data off of it?

2. What type of adapter do I need?

3. How is this drive powered??? (I know Molex is too big to power a laptop drive, but I see no type of power input like what you would find on a regular SATA drive)

Thanks for your help!

Just get a laptop drive case like this one, hook it up to USB and depending on your OS and his OS, you might have to take Parental control over the files to remove them. Is harder with Win7, impossible if he used BitLocker on them, but since its IDE, i doubt it.
