Hi i m new here
I m having 2 different rams of different companies (256x2) one is 133mhz (DDR266) and other is 166mhz (DDR333)
Can i change the dram frequency to 166mhz (DDR333) (currently the option is set to auto). I am worried that if i change it to a66 mhz DDR333, DDR266 will go BAD.

Mb is ASUS P4v8x-MX

I dont believe you can set it all to ddr 333. Its currently all clocked to ddr 266 right now, i suggest removing the 266 and keep the 333 in there, then buy more 333 ram to go with it.

Well, it works this way:
-If your processor has a 400mhz fsb then by default any DDR 333 or DDR400 will run by default at the speed of DDR 266 but if your CPU was a 533fsb then your RAM will definitely be running at the speed of DDR 333 unless your ratio will be like 5:4 but........

I think you may have a 400mhz fsb CPU which means you can put that DDR 333 but it will be downgraded to DDR 266 and I think a VIA chipset only supports 1:1 and 5:4 ratio, but either way, if the RAM is set to AUTO, leave it as it is, the 33mhz increase won't make any difference at all.
