I want to build a new rig with SLI and want to know if eVGA 7900s are good to get. What series of the 7900 should I get that will be most stable as well as give me performace for game such as BF2 and 2142, CSS, etc?

I think I will be running one of Gigabytes new AM2 motherboards if that makes a diff in which one to choose.

the G80 comes out tomorrow.. Just get one of those, they will beat 2 7900gtx in SLI by alot.

Buying a 7900gtx now would be a huge waste of money, IMHO.

Don't buy that one.. 707$ is overpriced.

But yes, get a 8800GTX. They will run about 600-675$

if u have the money def go with 8800GTX, if u happen to decide against this for some strange reason, go for 27900GTOs, although theyre availability is extremely limited right now

can i somehow acquire that 7800GT of yours when you upgrade?

and i say totally go for the 8800, because its ALOT better than the 2 7900s, and it supports DX10, which the 7900s dont

Well if the 8800GTX is better than two 7900GTXs, then why not get the 8800GTX since it'd be cheaper than SLI 7900GTXs? Unlike RAID, 2 GPUs doesn't actually DOUBLE performance.

I think i will go with that. I hope its stable though as well as quiet. I was going to take the 7900s and use watercooling on them, but I think ill give the 8800 a try when it is available on newegg. Does anyone know where I can find like a benchmark test on the 8800?

Also, im keeping this PC that I have now and building a completely new one, otherwise, I would sell it to u for a decent price.
