Ok probably a rather nooby question here, but basically i'm asking if I can overclock the CPU and use the integrated graphics in the core as well. Will it cause extra heat making overclocking impossible/very difficult?
This isn't a permanent solution, i'm using Integrated graphics until i have money to get my Radeon HD 6970. So it won't be under stress for long, i'm getting the card sometime this month.
I mainly just want to be able to overclock it and see what the core can do then set it back to normal until i've got my GPU, unless the integrated graphics has no effect on overclock.

If you're using a P67 board, it does not support the integrated graphics on the 2500K.

I believe that the i5 2500K core has integrated graphics chip built into it though? Or have I miss read that the whole time? Is there not an inbuilt integrated graphics part within the actual chip?

EDIT : Sorry, I understand what you mean now, so I can't use my 2500K core and P67 motherboard due to the P67 not supporting the IGP? thats alright then, just gotta wait until i've got cash for the card in that case

There is, but in order to tap it you have to use an H67 based mobo.

just an FYI, if you do get a H67 board know that the you can not OC with it or at least change the multiplier which is where 99% of an OC comes from. If you were able to get the z68 boards that is a different story, you could use the integrated graphic until you got your GPU and still be able to OC the CPU. However the z68 have not been released for sale to my knowledge.

Thanks everyone, it doesn't really affect me as my card is coming a few weeks after the rest of the parts (Radeon 6970) I was just planning to get system ready and then use it a bit, then stick the card in when it comes, so no real harm, (FYI i am using the P67 mobo)

One other small question, will I be able to access the BIOS screen even to check if its running without IGP or a GPU, or does this even require graphics processing? (I assume it does as it builds an image on the screen anyway, but I can always hope!)

No unless you have a video card you can throw in temporarily as the P67 has no video display ports.

Ah yes I did not think of that, rather silly question sorry! Would be a bit odd if there was a display port on something with no display capabilities!
Well thanks everyone, thats cleared up everything about my Mobo and Core which I didn't get, Thanks!
